Poynting XPOL-2-5G-V3-02

I bought the Poynting XPOL-2-5G to resolve serious signal issues with a 5G router (TP-Link Archer NX200) located in the middle of a 250 m² commercial building. Indoors, the router was struggling on weak LTE fallback: 8.95 Mbps download and a virtually dead 0.08 Mbps upload (RSRP -113 dBm). Instead of drilling through external walls and running excessively long cables, I installed the antenna in the attic (loft) on a vertical pole, positioned directly above the router on the floor below. Here are the before-and-after results and some crucial advice that made this setup work: Results: Download: jumped from 8.95 Mbps to 242.9 Mbps Upload: jumped from 0.08 Mbps to 15–40 Mbps Signal strength (RSRP): improved from -113 dBm to -87 dBm (100% signal) Signal quality (SINR): climbed from -2 dB to +11.5 dB (clean connection without interference) Latency: dropped to an impressive 2 ms Crucial tips for buyers: Keep the cable under 5 meters: The high-frequency 5G band (N78 / 3.5 GHz) suffers significant attenuation in coaxial cables. Running a 10–15 m standard cable will easily wipe out the antenna’s gain. I used a 5m low-loss HF240 (LMR-240 equivalent) cable with N-Male to SMA-Male connectors directly through the ceiling. Attic installation works: If your roof doesn’t use foil-faced insulation (like PIR/Celotex), standard tiles and roof decking cause only minor loss. Moving the antenna higher onto the loft frame gave a massive line-of-sight advantage over ground-level obstacles. Alignment is critical: Do not just point it roughly. Watch your router’s live diagnostics while rotating the antenna in 5–10 degree increments. Your primary target is the SINR value—once it goes well into positive figures (+10 dB or higher), the router can negotiate 256QAM modulation and unleash full speed. Router settings: In the router admin panel, switch network band selection to manual and lock onto the high-speed bands (e.g., Band 1 for LTE anchoring and N78 for 5G) while disabling narrow low-frequency bands (like B8/B20) that drag performance down. Also, remember to enable "External Antennas" in the settings! Well-built, sturdy antenna that delivers exactly what it promises when paired with the right cabling and proper alignment. Highly recommended!

sorry i didn't read the reviews, no instructions or cables which is very poor considering the price, now in a cupboard as cant return. bare in mind this item not dispatched from the uk.

This equipment comes without the cable to go into a router like the TP-Link MR200, but just google Poynting CAB-49 10m HDF-195 and you will find the right cable. (I needed the 10 metre cable but they do a 5m) Once mounted it was dead easy to point it in the right direction as I used the interface within the router admin area to find the best signal strength. I was getting between 50 and 75% but now I get 100%. We were getting between 0 and 18mb but it was very erratic and constantly disconnected. With this antenna we are now getting between 50 and 70mb and stable connection. Yes it's a lot of money, but if you are unable to get decent broadband and your 4/5g signal is poor, this will solve your problem and I would wholly recommend you buy this antenna, you won't be disappointed.

I used AI to identify the best 5G aerial for my situation and this was their recommendation. AI was also very helpful in set up and alignment but even so the benefits were less than I'd hoped for. The price of living in a rural setting.

Had to buy the cabling as none provided Did not improve the signal strength at all. Expensive too.

Received the Antenna, but it was not clear on the product information , that it did not come with 2 SMA Male Cables. Had to place another order for cables and won't be able to hook up as quickly as I wanted. I have an older model of the same antenna and know they work well, just wish the product post would state that cables are sold separately.

Item as described, works fine if you have decent signal , it isn't magic if you have poor signal and no line of sight it won't get around these issues.
