CINOTON LED Wall Light (26W, Pack of 2)

This light works perfectly and provides great light. It was exactly what we were looking for.

This is the second pair of these I have purchased. The first pair replaced a pair of the lights which used the sodium vapor bulbs. The old lights had a funky "yellow" light, these new lights are a nice bright white. The Dusk to Dawn sensors work well, The amount of light is good to accompany an entrance, above a door, etc. Easy to install. I have to be honest. Many of the LED lights I have been installing the last couple of years have begun to fail. Everywhere from one light was one month past the warranty while the other was well within the warranty. Others have lasted longer but I frankly doubt the claims of 50,000 hours. Of the others which have failed, they have been anywhere from 1,000 hours of use to 5,500 hours of use and stages in between. None of those are close to the 50,000 hours these LED companies claim. I have replaced about 20 lights with LED the last two years. I have had 4 of the lights either stop working or "burn out" progressively. Either way, its not good. The good news is they are cheap. Bad news is I hate throwing away an entire fixture because the bulb is burned out but that's what happens with LED lights. I will give these 5 stars because they are relatively well made (compared to competitors) and the price is hard to beat. The light is nice and bright and they are easy to install. Practical reality is I will likely be replacing these again. I would rather pay a little more and get better quality than this race to the bottom in quality that all of the LED light makers in China seem to be on. I will say replacing the sodium vapor lights with these not only brightened the area and the light is nice and white / bright. It also reduced the electrical consumption enough to pay the cost of these lights in 6 months. Given that, if I have to replace these in a year, I will still be money ahead. But I hope the race to cheapen these lights stops soon as they are cutting every corner they can. I have to be honest, I often wonder if these lights will pass a UL certification or similar safety and quality inspection. I genuinely doubt that they would.........and I would rather they be safe than one day, someone be sorry. That's the main reason I hope they stop cheapening these lights.

So when I first got these I noticed that the directions (print) is very, very small (I'm old) and not really clear. There is a bottom knock-out on the light but that would mean that your wires would have to be seen outside the unit. You will need to drill an 1/2" hole in the middle of the base. You will see that there are several depressions in the base but no direction on which or where to drill. You cannot attach this light to an existing bracket (it must be attached to the wall base) and there is no attachment screws to go with the unit. I used the foam backing (which also has several knock-outs to guide me as to attachment hole placements. Then took a drill bit and drilled through the base to attach the light to the wall. I then used two common screws and attached the base to the wall. Wiring was easy but I noticed that the unit sits off the wall approximately 1/4" so I will have to seal that as well. The good news!!! These lights are extremely bright, clean looking and function VERY well. The come on a dusk and off at dawn. Good value for the money. Just gotta have the right drill and bits.

Purchased and installed in May 2022. Still working like new. Very bright compared to the previous high pressure sodium lights. You will get more spider webs than HPS lights though. I guess even insects like whiter light!
