Very informative
I've only read the first few chapters and it has already taught me so much. My husband and I are still a few years away from being able to build our dream barndominium but this will be a game changer for when the time comes. I'm so glad that I bought this book!

Its a printed E book!
This is an E-BOOK, nothing more! He hit print and sold it for twelve dollars!! It is full of links and videos, but you can't do anything with them! Look at my attached pic. This is how he describes fiberglass vs. Blown insulation. Click on the link! Then he quoted two guys, one that picked glass and one that picked blown. No other info. No R-values, installation notes, nothing! This book is full of hyperlinks but he will not even give you an address to type in! On the cover he describes HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW from concept to move in. But the first line he discloses that he knows nothing about building and that he is a journalist! There is some good info scattered throughout here and there but most of it is "look at this" or "look at that". ""...this guy chose dark siding, this guy didn't" - nothing on types of flooring and the basics of how it is installed or any ideas of a transition from wood or tile to the stained concrete. Just basically "people stain the concrete" - "next chapter". I did pick up that there is an absorbent material you put under your wall framing so the wood does not soak up the stain. I didn't know that. But if you were getting a couple of bids then you would learn that from talking to your floor bidders! He doesn't even talk about how the stained concrete hold up vs a tile floor. I suggest buying a book that is written by an architect or builder so you can get an idea of how things are built and how they go together. Very disappointed that there are no floor plans, that is what I was really looking for!

Do not waste your money on this book!
The book was terrible the writing was nothing more than a lot of copy and paste of the same information. You will be getting more information and better information from doing a simple google search. I regret spending money and time with this book. I was really hoping for something special on how to build a dream home. The cover makes you think it will be exactly that but it is trash and I would not use the paper to start a fire with it’s that bad. Amazon should only sell books that you can look inside of like how book stores work had I read the pages even a couple I would not have ordered this.
