Using Ibm(r) Spss(r) Statistics: An Interactive Hands-On Approach

SPSS is a marvelous tool, but it's only as powerful as the user's knowledge and understanding of it. And because I didn't understand the true depth of this tool, I was not using it to its full potential. Then I got this book, by Aldrich and Cunningham, and after cruising through just one chapter, I already knew so much more. After having gone through the whole book, chapter by chapter, I feel like I've entered a whole new world of handling data and statistics. The great thing about this book is that it is easy to read and understand, and the visual elements help out a lot. I'd highly recommend it.

Like most, I am not a strong stats person and I needed to brush up on my SPSS to complete my dissertation. So I got this book and followed each chapter and did all the exercises and the review exercises and it has been fantastic and actually a little fun. It has completely changed my attitude toward working with large data sets.

This book taught me what my professor was unable to articulate. My biostatistics professor is very knowledgeable, but he is a terrible instructor. I recommend this book to anyone who needs to basically learn SPSS on their own.
