How does this work effectively or at all if there are other people around you firing their weapons (lots of gunfire)?

If this works like other timers the sensor picks up on the air pressure from the shots as well as the sound.

Can this be set up for delayed start for self timing (shooting alone)?

Yes it can be set for delayed start. I think the delay can be a fixed time or random start for more realistic reaction shooting.

Does the par timer have different tones for start and stop ?

Yes. Short tone for start longer for stop.

Is this sensitive enough to work dry-firing?

Not really. There are competition conditions which make picking up the shots from .22 rifle rounds difficult. So dry fire is very unlikely.

Shot timers

This is my preferred timer. I cannot get used to the small timers with silly bleepers and type that you cannot see from a distance. Would have preferred one that has Rf and connectors but not available to europe for some sick excuse that we are terrorists or some same mentality
