Hardware is almost excellent, very precise and tool exchange is also quite easy. Overall I am impressed. But there is room for improvement. First of all it should come with a bit more accessories to be productive and while software is easy to use it's still a bit too basic.

I have bought one of these from a supplier in the UK since returning this one, great machine, highly rated! Anyone looking to import this: Cricut will *not* allow you to register the device, regardless if it's a UK/EU/etc unit for export, as the device is sold from the US-based warehouses of Amazon.com, meaning that if something breaks on your machine and you need to RMA it, they will not be able to help you. I found this all out after speaking to both Cricut's UK and US support staff (who were lovely) who informed me of this part of their terms and conditions which states that it can only be registered in the country of purchase. Sent it back, took 2-3 weeks for a refund (lots of messaging back and forth as it was sat at an Amazon warehouse for 1.5 weeks before being scanned).

I felt the need to subscribe to Cricut Design Space @ $9.95/month. Using Design Space opens up the new world of crafting. I didn't want to go through the tutorials! I wanted to use cardstock to make cards for my grandchildren, thinking that the more complicated things would come later. I connected my Maker to Design Space to my PC and it is AMAZING. DS tells me every step of what to do, from selecting ready to go cards to selecting what type of material I am using, to inserting the cardstock with the mat! Watching it cut intricate items almost causes me to insert my nose into the machine!!! It just follows the directions of DS and WOW! I love it! I'm sure that I will eventually take the tutorials and get involved in cutting vinyl, etc! No cartridges are necessary and one can create their own designs. AMAZING!

I have used this multiple times and let me tell you I love it. I have already earned my money back on this just by making clothing for my 13 year old daughter. Spirit week at school and I am killing the cool dad job. She shows me what she wants online and I make it for her. My wife and I do this together and we haven't had any issues with it yet. Things to note.. The PC app is way easier to use than the tablet app. We use both... The tablet is for when we want to do small things to existing projects. Watch tutorials on this for the best reviews and remember there are so many freebie fonts out there and designs! Enjoy!
