Did not work in Elkins, WV
Home located just a block from the courthouse. The unit stated it was calling 911 but the call would not get connected. Customer Service was quick to respond...no solution, just return the unit.

PERFECT. No extra cost....
Prefect. I gave this to my mom. Makes me feel better about her when I am not around. She is taking it with her everywhere, which was kind of hard to get her to do. .She did not like it at first, But when we tested it to make sure it called 911, She liked it when the operator answered and assured her that it a very good thing to have and to call anytime if she feels a need. One thing to keep in mind, this does not give your location it only calls the closest 911. Where ever 911 is available. Also there is no extra cost. just batteries.

Simple device, stupid clip design
Overall, glad to have found this product. Right now, I don't feel I need the more advanced models. Maybe later on, the cell phone providers will wise up and offer the monitoring as an add-on at a reasonable price. I already pay $60/month for my cell svs, I can't afford another $50 or more for a full monitoring svs that gives me only very limited range. My complaints about this alert gizmo:(1) Love the cover that helps prevent accidental call button push. BUT it doesn't fit if using the clip back.(2) The cord is too long for most ppl. I recommend a cord "stopper" to allow for adjusting length while still being able to get over one's head.I haven't yet tested w/my local PD 911. But I used an online app and confirmed there are at least a dozen cell towers within just a few miles, so I expect no problems. This also ensures that I can use outside or even in my car since it relies only on a non-branded tower to transmit.I just wish a wrist-worn model was avail. All I've found anywhere with wrist models are $$$ and require a monthly monitoring fee. Also wish it was water-proof for showering. I'll probably try a double ziploc bag so that I can have it close when bathing.

Does not call 911! This brand new device says "Calling 911" but does not call 911.
This was purchased as a replacement for a "911 HELP NOW" button that did call 911 when I first tested it. That button quit working in less than a year. With new batteries the blue test light came on but it still did not call 911. So I bought this new Help button. When I press & hold down the red button with the white cross in the middle a blue light appears & the device's voice says our loud "Calling 911". But it does not call 911! The blue light stays lit until I turn it off with the cancel button so it does not waste the battery. This is the 3rd Help button I have bought in 3 years. I bought a HELP button in 2017 & used it to call 911 when I brought a leg. But after a year it got wet & rusted inside--though they are supposed to be waterproof to shower with. The next one I bought less than a year ago & it worked when I tested it by calling 911, but now it lights up but doesn't call 911 despite new batteries. It is less than a year old & has no rust inside. I put batteries in this brand new one & when I tested it the blue light turns on, a voice says "Calling 911," but it still DOES NOT CALL! When a help button works a 911 operator answers & I explain, "No emergency "I am just testing my "911 Help Button." I recommend testing them once a month. But when they don't work when brand new that is too much! I need a replacement. Help!

Great value medical device for inside the home or anywhere that there is cell phone service.
Great value, works anywhere there is cell phone connectivity. No fuss, battery lasts a long time and there's a system to check it. Works inside the house or out. Gives me security that my mother in law is okay. Not so fussy that she can't understand it - straightforward, affordable.

Good product
We buy this for our clients who don’t have access to a phone line and it’s great because it’s free of a monthly contract but still gives them access to having an alert button. I do think it’s very expensive for a small button that calls 911, but that may just be my biased considering low income seniors just can’t afford a product like this. Thank goodness for non profits like us

Easy Call For Help
This device is perfect for what it is meant for. You have to be responsive and able to talk. I called my police department and did a test simulation call. You push one button and your connected with police dispatch immediately. If I have to use my phone, I need to unlock it and get to my phone keyboard screen and then dial 911. On the Mace, I push one button.

It didn't work with our Verizon cell towers!
Advertised as "operates wherever cellular service is available". The manual says : "Operation of the Mace Alert 911 is influenced by many factors such as geographical region, physical obstacles, interference and other factors."I live in rural northeast Kansas but we have excellent cell coverage from Verizon. When it didn't work for me, I gave it to a friend who lives in a nearby town. It didn't work for her either. Mace needs to say what cell coverage works, like only AT&T, Sprint, etc or what geographical areas work...I wouldn't have ordered this if I had known. The device itself is simple and wonderful and I sure wish it would have worked. Good voice quality, my husband could hear even without his hearing aids. The protective cover to prevent accidental alarms is also an excellent feature.I hope someday Mace is able to live up to its claim "works anywhere in the US where there is cell coverage.

fonctionne bien
fonctionne bien, tester avec le 911 au Québec. Seul bémol, la clips a la ceinture ne tiens pas. Vous devez le tenir proche ou au cou.
