Good, solid, quality item. The handle is well-made and comfortable for my large hands. It takes up the oil and spreads it evenly and smoothly. Happy with the purchase.

This little sponge has transformed the experience of oiling out cutting and chopping boards. My hands don't have to get oily by holding an oil-soaked piece of paper towel or cloth. The sponge does absorb a small amount of oil but not enough to run out of the sponge during storage (I store my sponge applicator upside down so the box doesn't get soft with oil). It's easy to hold, easy to use when spreading oil around a cutting board and, as I indicated, soaks up just enough oil that there is enough in the sponge to go along edges of the cutting board without having to pour more oil (always tricky on the edge of a board).

At a little over £8 for this, it’s essentially a kitchen sponge on a wooden holder. It’s great for oiling chopping boards but for the price, I expected there to be a container to keep it in at least.
