I am not a professional, but played in my college marching band and am an intermediate level player. I play for personal enjoyment and ocassionally in Church. The last several years I played a Sky student piccolo and wanted to uprade to a little higher quality, which is why I chose this one. It turned out even better than expected! The workmanship is good, it seems sturdy, and best of all the sound is great! It doesn't sound too airy but rather bold, pretty, and clear. For me, the headjoint makes this one easier to tune. I had pitch problems from the beginning with the Sky piccolo, so am happy this seems better. I had wondered what the case would be like since there was no picture, so I was pleased to find it comes in a solid hard case that you can put inside a soft carrying case with strap and zipper. Of course there is the adjustment period that comes with breaking in any new instrument, but that is going smoothly and so far I am thrilled with the quality and sound of this piccolo.

Great for marching band. If you want a professional level, then get a wood one. No problems hitting the high notes others have complained about, just took a little bit of practice - breath from your stomach and tighten your corners. Everything arrived as described.

This flute was purchased for my 7 year old daughter's birthday after expressing interest in musical instruments. I have played the flute for 25 years myself and am accustomed to a professional level instrument. Upon receiving this flute, I played it myself to test and was practically astounded at the tone quality alone. I was expecting a more cheaply made student flute, but the craftsmanship is great for a children's model. I believe the Roy Benson company obviously prides itself, and my opinion stems from this model alone. I would definitely recommend this purchase for anyone contemplating a children's flute!

Piece of junk. Do not waste your money. My daughter slipped on the ice and broke her first piccolo. We needed a replacement immediately, so we ordered the Roy Benson on line. She has played this Roy Benson 3 times and it it a piece of junk. Our usual repairman would not even touch this instrument to repair it. He said it would fall apart. My husband suffered a stroke in late 2014, money is tight and now I am left with a piece of junk piccolo. Somehow I have to figure out how to get a piccolo for my daughters last year in marching band.Do not wast your money like I did!!

My daughter, who plays the flute, decided to branch out. We bought this as a beginner/learner instrument and she is very happy with it as is her teacher.

El estuche viene muy bien pero la flauta esta llena de manchas negras y rojas, como oxido o grasa, y no se le quitan con una servilleta. Parece un instrumento usado y lo vendieron como uno nuevo.

The media could not be loaded.  La flauta me gusta pero tenía el muelle del Sibbemol suelto o flojo y le faltaba una Trebilla a la funda de tela. Por lo demás bien, espero que no me pongan problemas con la devolución o cambio. Ya la he enviado y 4 días después no me han contestado. El punto celeritas. En mi caso no me trataron bien. Sigo esperando. Me devolvieron el dinero. Todo ok.

Acquistato per moglie e figlia si è rivelato un ottavino facile da suonare. La meccanica è meglio rifinita rispetto a prodotti più economici che abbiamo provato prima di questo.

Excelente flauta para enseñar a mi hija de siete años.
