Halloween: The Complete Collection[Blu-ray]

My review is for Halloween The Complete Collection Bluray 10 Disc Standard Edition that contains 10 movies (not sure what happened but Amazon is now showing this only Bd V2 even though I purchased the entire collection with 10 movies, that item is not coming up in my order or in the search results).Legacy of Halloween still lives. Within 2 weeks from now, on Michael Myer's birthday October 19, the evil will come home one more time when the new Halloween movie is released in theatres.Blu ray transfers are very good, almost no visible defects in the films, pretty clean transfer with HD quality audio and video. If I am not mistaken, 2nd and 3rd movies have no subtitles (that's my only complaint). There are extra features that come with most of the movies.First Halloween movie is a classic and still the best movie in the entire franchise. The soundtrack, cinematography, steady cam shots, the angles, the story, they all come together very effectively, creating a timeless horror classic (I personally refrain from using the term "horror" simply because horror implies gore elements which obviously are not present in this movie).Halloween II: This is basically the events that follow right after the end of the first movie and literally picks up from where the first movie left off. It follows the formula of the first movie but still very entertaining exactly for that reason.Halloween III - Season of the Witch: Interestingly, this movie has nothing to do with Michael Myers or the established story of Halloween. It is a standalone horror movie that takes place on Halloween night. There is a bit of letdown due to nonpresence of Michael Myers but I think it's an OK movie.Halloween IV - The Return of Michael Myers: As the title suggests, Michael Myers comes back to wreak more havoc. In this installment, the story line dives into more mythological aspect of the origin of the evil that possesses Michael Myers, which I think was inventive.Halloween V - The Revenge of Michael Myers: Michael Myers continues to claim his victims in this 5th installment of the series. At this point the movie is running on very much its established formula but somehow I still find it entertaining. I guess once you are a fan, you simply cannot get enough of Michael Myers LOL :) There is also more buildup to the story about the supernatural forces that drive Michael Myers.Halloween 6 - The Curse of Michael Myers: The mythological aspect of the origin of evil that possesses Michael Myers are explained, the curse of Thorn.Halloween 7: Halloween H20: 20 years after the first movie (1978), Michael Myers comes back to haunt Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis makes a comeback to reprise her role as Laurie Strode). Laurie is now living a Northern California, far away from Haddonfield, IL, and has a son (Josh Hartnett in his debut role). Yeah, like that's going to stop Michael Myers.Halloween 8: Halloween Resurrection: The original house of horrors, home of infamous serial killer Michael Myers, has now become the set of a webcam reality show. This is the first time producers kind of drifted away from the style that has defined all previous Halloween movies. Even though it is still entertaining, the lack of the established "Halloween" style somewhat takes away the impact.Halloween 9 (Halloween 2007) and Halloween 10 (Halloween 2 2009) are remakes by film maker Zombie. Even though the first movie is ok, my overall feeling with these remakes is that they delve too much into gore and move away from the subtle, stylish filmmaking which made Halloween movies such success.I just hope the new reboot -Halloween 2018- will bring back the style of original Halloween. Honestly, gore is not necessary to make a good horror movie. John Carpenter has proved this time and time again.

has the Bonus Disc, but not surei was only interested in this 15 Disc set5 stars or more for this box set, Definitely worth the money
