Happy with my Samsung printer CLX-3175FN
I purchased my CLX-3175FN roughly four years ago. It was a factory reconditioned unit and sold for a lower price. I have used Samsung appliances with good results so the company, so I thought I would give it a try. Compared to my Epson and HP printers that use ink cartridges, this unit printer cartridges last me roughly one year and I don't have any problems with ink jets getting clogged. For the first time, the printer is now asking for a printer drum... for $150. This printer has been so good that I have bought it.But admittedly, I don't use my printer daily. So it usually just sits there day after day. But when I need it to print, scan, copy, it does a good job.Tom

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!!!
I am currently on my second printer in 2 years, and I have to take it in for service because it isn't printing evenly. I am 5 months out of my 1 year warranty and Samsung is unwilling to do anything about it. i use this printer for my business and this is a HUGE inconvenience with far too much down time. I will never again purchase another Samsung product.

Lots of promise but poor delivery
Based on all the very favorable reviews I purchased this printer on Dec. 22. I installed the printer on Jan. 15.Today, April 16 2009, with VERY LITTLE demand placed either feature, BOTH THE COPIER AND THE SCANNER ARE BROKEN. Customer Service is dragging its heels; I have told them I think I got a lemon and they should allow me to exchange it. Meanwhile I cannot even scan to print, as the scanner software will not stay put! It unloads itself every few days!Other: The machine comes with the most elemental instruction drawing sheet. The very poorly written and enormous manual has to be downloaded - it's unwieldy and BADLY in need of a proper ENGLISH speaking proof-reader/editor.Many of the instructions contained in the manual are not applicable to my model - yet there is no distinction given in the manual for which instructions pertain to what machine. For instance, p. 44 claims that there is such a thing as a Samsung Scan Manager in the control panel of Windows. Took me half an hour to find it and when I did, it did not have any of the features described in the manual available. As mentioned, the scanner also will not stay installed!!! Each time I try to "connect to PC" to scan it says:"not available" Then I have to re-install it. It then works for a week or a few days before going off again. And yes Samsung, I have changed the USB.Unlike the nifty user friendly software icons that opened on screen for me each time I scanned with my HP - this machine did not EVEN INSTALL an icon - let alone any sort of guidance to help one locate a file. I cannot figure out how to set the file scan locations either - the supposed scan manager just won't accept what I put in.There is some useless icon on my desktop called "Dr. Printer." Unfortunately, The doc isn't in. The only thing this it does is give you an option to print a test page!! And what about "Dr. Scanner", "Dr. Copy Feature" and "Dr. Fax"??? They have yet to introduce themselves! And I really need them!I don't know what to say. This printer is quiet, attractive, compact.I think the ink is reasonably priced and although too soon to tell I know the beginner black cartridge did at least three hundred pages. But for the copy feature to go out after only three months of light use is unacceptable. So is their pokey customer service.I'd wager I've wasted about five or six hours -probably more when I think of running to the copy store - on this machine. Also unacceptable.I wish I had opted to spend more for a higher end HP 'all in one'.---UPDATE: This printer has been taking up space in my hallway for over 12 months. Samsung did finally send someone out to fix it the first time, he said all it needed was drivers!! What the&%$??? How come I couldn't figure that out? Why? Because the software troubleshooting is so arcane it took two full days and a service call to solve this simple issue! How user UN-friendly can a product be?Well the saga cont., because a month or so later it started jamming! I attempted to fix it myself... (it should not have been hard once I had downloaded the schematic) BUT!! there is so much plastic in the components that one broke when I attempted re-assembly. Today, having forgotten all this history, I was actually considering taking it in for repair (yeah I know, throw it out, contribute more junk to the landfill..no thanks) until I came across this previous review. How could I have forgotten this Samsung hell? Coupled with the exorbitant ink costs I now realize that this piece of expensive (I paid 500.00 plus) junk belongs at the local 'salvage for parts' geek joint [[ASIN:B001BBR0EG Samsung CLX-3175FN Color Laser Multi-function Printer] I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT AGAIN! AND NEITHER SHOULD ANY OF YOU!

It's "okay" but you can't beat the price
I got this for $299 at another retailer who was offering an instant rebate. The price is awesome and the printer looks great compared to those ugly beige plastic ones. The prints and scans are only "okay." I had an HP color laser MFP before - that cost about $450 and the prints we super crispy and the color was right on. This Samsung produces very nice crispy black prints, but the color prints look like they are blurry. Even the black text on a color print gets converted somehow so it prints out blurry, as if it used all 4 toners for just black text and the toner was mis-aligned by a couple microns. So the prints could be better. The scans are the same way, it's great to have such easy scanning to a network or USB key, but the scans are a little blurry and the color conversion is not as spot-on as it could be.Color prints take quite a while compared to other color lasers, but the product description makes you aware of that. It's just when you are actually sitting there waiting for the print, it's noticeable.Overall, It's a good printer. If it was $400, I would give it a 2.5 star review. But It was only $300 compared to the normal $500+, it gets a 3.5 star. I guess to sum it up I would say "It will do" until I get richer.

Great Product
I purchased this printer last month after shopping around for several weeks. The retail stores had it priced at $399, but I was able to find it here on Amazon for only $299 + shipping, brand new! I am completely pleased with my purchase. The only thing that might have made it better is if it would have been packaged better for shipping. It arrived in the original store carton which was fairly beat up by the time it arrived at my doorstep. Thankfully the printer was not damaged. Overall I would recommend this product.

Only worked for 4months!
Stopped scanning after 4months. Purchased from TigerDirect and Samsung's support is the worst. They sent the wrong systemboard then the second one was the correct one but it still does not scan.I hope TigerDirect can assist with this as they are the seller.NOT RECOMMENDED.
