API 1500 Watt Floating De Icer With Guards 521G

This floating deicer really works and kept our water trough from freezing during the hard freeze we recently had with temperatures in the teens. It's easy to install though I recommend using a heavy duty exterior extension cord and keeping the cord high enough above that the animals can't get to it. We also attached it lower to the fence the trough was beside because one of the horses kept picking up the deicer and shaking it. So, troubleshoot to keep the cord away from livestock and you're all set. Easy to use and does the job.

I have purchased this specific API floating deicer with the guard for mega years. The one I recently purchased is my back up one just in case the one I have been using breaks down. I use it in the winter months for my outdoor goldfish pond to ensure my pond does not freeze over and that the pond also has a open area to allow any /all gases to escape ensuring my goldfish are safe. It works wonders and I also need the guard because my liner is made of heavy duty rubber thus ensuring the liner is not burnt. Such a super great product. Stays in my pond all winter long.
