Teac Hi-Res Corresponding Portable Amplifier Player HA-P90SD-R Red/Black

1st off the sound and build quality seem top notch (though it could use a bit more output with some headphones--it drives my 7506 Sony's well but others need a punch-especially hi res uncompressed original master files that are 3-6db below peak as the norm) It does support 128 gig SD cards. It seems made like most Teac/TASCAM products, like a tank. That's the good news. I haven't used it as a DAC, only as a hi res player as an add on to my 1st gen Fiio X3. For 3x the money of the Fiio you get "maybe" a 3rd of the battery life, recharging takes hours-it's more time to charge it than you get to play it, and worst for me-it doesn't support 24/192 FLAC files, which is what 80% of my HD Tracks purchased have been. (it does play 24/192 WAV) I read where there's going to be a firmware upgrade, but I've had this thing since March and I've seen nothing yet. It takes 2 minutes to load a full 128gig SD every time you start it. The Fiio with the exact same card takes 15 seconds max, and it's interface actually has colors and album artwork (that honestly I don't need or want, BUT this is $600 + an SD card!) and large symbols that you can read from arms-length away-that is much more real world usable to us non-millennials. The Teac UI is a lot like their $100 digital recorders (which are fantastic-I have one as well)- DOS looking. Again, I expect that in a $100 item.If you want ultimate sound quality and I'm sure durability I do believe the Teac outdoes the Fiio in critical listening tests and long term abuse-I notice fuller tighter bass and a bit more open soundstage- (but I haven't tried an X5 or a 2nd gen X3) and for that it will justify the price to many people. It completely blows away any phone based listening experience you can have as of now, even with an external DAC. But so does the $99 Fiio, and it plays 24/192 FLAC, goes 128 gig and has a more iPod type UI and a larger screen. I'd give the TEAC 3.5 stars if I could, but not 4.

The merits of this DAP\AMP well exceed my expectations. Its got just the sound signature that hits me right in the spot. Fell in love with this DAP\AMP instantly.Only con is that it does not support some microSD cards of UHS I / II speed bus standards for some reason. Hopefully TEAC will fix this problem in later firmware updates.

Going through the ages of Walkman, CD/MD Discman and mobile phones, in 2018 I am looking for a digital audio portable device for files. Upon looking at the options, it is hard to find a DAP which does not emphasized on EQ features. But I did not use EQ often even in the previous generations of portable device.Then I found the TEAC P90SD. Since I have Jeff Rowland Capri and Denon DBT-3313UD, I have been familiar with the combination of Burr Brown OP-AMP and DAC soundwise. And in fact P90SD is comparable to them.I am satisfied with the sound. I don't need EQ. And I don't need other devices and services to connect. Just pair it with memory card and earphone, it is good to go.But the many caveats mentioned in other reviews are significant also...a. Suddenly I am time-traveled to the yesteryear of Walkman. It takes a while to remember the menus in P90SD is separated in three "areas": Music/Play/Settings. The Home key on the front shows the areas, and turn up/down the Side control wheel moves the focus to desired area. Then pressing the Side control wheel enters the area.b. The device reads the tags of all audio files in the memory card. The default "Play settings - Area" setting is "ALL", but that will just sort the songs by Title. Then, the next song you hear most likely is from a different album. After changing the "Play settings - Area" setting to "ALBUM", the play order will follow the track number of the album, which is more familiar for most of us I guess.c. As above, audio files have to be tagged to be selectable.d. If there are two distinct Artist tags under the same album, then two entries will be shown in the "Music" area for albums.e. Battery is draining fast, and lasts less than 6 hours in my unit. Not sure if it is due to the class AB amplification circuit of the device. Anyway, I set the "Rescan - Auto" setting to "OFF" by all means, so it won't waste more battery juice in reading the same tags of all audio files every time the device turns on.f. It requires more than 5 hours of charging even with an adaptor of 5V/3A output and the supplied DC cable.g. Though the documents say the device can pair up with a lot of earphones/headphones, I find it sound better with IEMs with L Gain setting.Back to the brighter side, with IEMs such as the Audio Technica ATH-CK90 PRO MK2 (Balanced Armature) and Sony MDR-EX90SL (Dynamic), there is no fatigue even when hearing at higher volume.While PCM is not bad, in general DSF files sounds better with P90SD.One more thing. It has no wireless connectivity feature, and is very low in EMF, in case it matters.By 2018, they are cheap. I got two of them.

Bonjour à tous,Ce DAC/Ampli casque/ lecteur de fichiers musicaux est une sorte de couteau suisse audio.Il existe également sous la marque Onkyo HA-300.Possédant déjà un DAC Onkyo HA-200 (même appareil, mais sans le lecteur de fichiers musicaux sur carte microSD ni l'écran) je ne suis pas surpris par la qualité sonore.Le fait d'avoir un câble USB différent pour l'alimentation et pour le transport des informations numériques participe à cette qualité.C'est ce qui permet d'écouter tout en rechargeant : ça c'est bien vu, car faire passer par le même câble d'un DAC, alimentation et source numérique, n'est pas garant d'une pureté sonore et d'un fonctionnement sans anicroche...Attention le chargeur secteur n'est pas fourni.En revanche, l'écran est à l'envers par rapport au bouton de volume : on s'y fait, il faut prendre le coup pour tourner le bouton du volume dans le bon sens.L'ergonomie de la mollette sur le côté n'est pas non plus du meilleur goût.Le point noir est le logiciel de lecture : c'est là que Teac et/ou Onkyo doivent faire une mise à jour.Les fichiers sont considérés comme "artiste inconnu", notamment tous ceux provenant de ma CDthèque.La solution immédiate doit certainement passer par la création de playlistes, mais c'est très long à faire.Or mon Ampli/Tuner/Dac Onkyo lit parfaitement tous ces fichiers, classés dans le bon ordre, par la prise USB (et même sur un disque auto-alimenté de 2 To !!!).Pourquoi ces mêmes fichiers et dossiers sont-ils déclarés "inconnus" sur le P90SD/HA-300 ?Et donc présentés un par un sans titre... au lieu d'être regroupés par dossiers/albums?Enfin, autre défaut : avec une carte de 128Go le "scan" de départ est d'une lenteur fastidieuse : on ne peut donc utiliser le lecteur avant plusieurs minutes.Voilà, sinon le son est super comme pour mon Onkyo HA-200 (c'est le même Dac, avec en moins le lecteur et la carte microSD).Même avec un casque gourmand comme le HD650 ou le HD700 de Sennheiser, ça passe, pas très fort, mais ça passe et avec une pureté sans égale.L'idée de ce couteau suisse est excellente, mais il faut absolument régler ce problème logiciel du lecteur de fichiers de la carte microSD afin de le rendre complètement performant.

2020/10に購入本日（2022/03）つまみを回し電源OFFの位置にするが電源ランプが消えず当時\19,500で安く買えたが、耐久性に問題があるのか設計不良だったのか…音質は満足レベルちなみに電源OFFできないだけで正常に動くか確認（アナログで入力→ヘッドフォンへ出力）したところ、全く聞こえず失敗である2020/04 追記他レビューでスリープ後正常に戻ったとあったので、充電しつつ起動できるか確認（電源ONのまま放置していたので当然電源切れ状態）充電のためUSBを差したところ画面表示はされるが、起動ができない様子（通常は電源ONにするとバー表示がされ起動が完了する　バー表示が無表示のまま進まない）内部メモリ異常か、ソフトウェア的な問題か？初期化スイッチ（針金などを小さい穴に刺してリセットできるやつ）があることが分かったのでそれで復旧済み　まだ使えそうで安心した

デビューから数年経過したモデルですしレビューによるとプレイヤー機能に相当な問題があるようで…とはいえ16000円という当時の価格からは信じられないようなバーゲンプライスに惹かれて購入。【ポータブルアンプとして】iPhone SE＋オンキヨーの有料版アプリで接続しました。OEM関係にあるアンプとアプリですから相性に問題はありませんしDSD出力に対応しているのでこの組み合わせはある意味基本と言えるものかと思います。特筆すべきはホワイトノイズの無さ、他のアンプだと気になるようなケースでもこのモデルでは無音又は全く気にならないレベルです。癖のあるヘッドホンを接続しても出力不足を感じることもありませんしやはり機能的にはかなりのものだと感じました。【プレイヤーとして】うーん…評判は正しかったｗまず通常の操作に慣れる（理解する）までが結構イライラしますｗ基本操作に慣れると今度は選曲にイ（略）microSDカードを認識すると自動的にアルバム別に分けれくれるのですが同じアルバムを２～３分割してくれたり、全く違うアルバムを一纏めにしてくれたりするため曲順もバラバラになります。因みに自分でフォルダを分けてみましたが結果はまたバラバラになりました。この感覚、何かに似ていると思ったのですが出始めのメモリ型ミュージックプレイヤー（安価なやつ）のそれに近い印象ですね。選曲もアルファベット→かな（？）で順番に並べられるので後方の曲を選ぶのに相当スクロールしなくてはいけないうえにうっかり操作を誤るとHOMEに戻るという仕様のため諦めましたｗ全曲再生＋ランダム再生の設定で何が鳴るかは運任せプレイヤーということにして納得することに。不意に鳴ってはいけない大人向けの音源は削除して楽しんでいます。バランス接続なし、ワイヤレスなし、プレイヤー機能に問題ありとそれだけ見るとどうなの？という気がしますのでオススメとは言えませんが音は良い、そこは間違いのないところで興味のある方にはチャレンジしてもらいたいです。

(2022/01/23 追記・修正)CL750と組み合わせるために購入して一年半ほど経過。購入当時はまだ在庫があり、新品2万円ほどでした。本機のダメなところは認めたうえで、気に入っています。万人にオススメできない要素があることを踏まえて-1の★4としました。使い心地について購入前に気になっていた点、使い始めて気づいた点を中心に書きます。劣悪な操作性だと散々言われていますが、古いファームウェアでの情報も散見されます。最新のファームウェアver.1.30では多少改善されています。【操作性】・戻るボタンがないと言われていましたが、メニュー操作中はHomeボタンが戻るボタンとして機能します。間違えたらホームから辿り直しということはありません。・操作性の悪さの最大の原因は、一連の操作が１つのポジションで完結しないことです。側面のジョグダイヤルはメニューの選択・決定操作ができますが、戻る操作は前面のHomeボタンなので押すために持ち替える必要があります。前面ボタンでメニュー操作が完結するか、側面にHome/戻るボタンがあればよかったのですが…【再生機能】・フォルダが認識されないという話が散見されてどういうことかと気になっていました。正確には「再生範囲としてフォルダを指定できない」でした。フォルダの階層を掘ってもファイルの認識には問題ないので、ルートディレクトリに何百曲も置く必要があるわけではありません。・各曲のアーティスト情報でアルバムが分割されます。複数のアーティストが参加しているようなアルバムでは、その数だけ同じアルバム名が並ぶので非常に煩わしいです。・AAC対応とありますが、AAC-HEには非対応のようです。再生中に非対応ファイルを踏むとスキップされずそこで止まるのでストレスが溜まります。真空波動研SuperLiteなどで予めコーデックを確認し、必要に応じてflacなどに変換しておくと良いでしょう。・プレイリストは本機の機能では作成不能です。TEAC HR Audio Playerを使ってPCで作成し、ファイルをSDカード内に配置することで利用可能です。ただしこのソフト、本機の対応コーデックをカバーしきれていません。プレイリストの形式も一般的なものではないため、別のソフトで作成するのも難しい…というか他にあるのか知りません。一応テキストとして読み書きできるので、頑張れば手書きできます。試行錯誤した結果、1行に1曲、次の形式で記述されていることがわかりました。"Path",拡張子の長さ？,"Title","Artist",length,offset,(length-1)PathはSDカードの中の楽曲ファイルのフルパスです。ドライブレターが含まれるのでちょっと謎でしたが、特に問題ないようです。lengthは曲の秒数に定数をかけたもののようですが正確なところはわかりませんでした。offsetは再生開始位置です。通常は0です。とはいえこんな面倒なことをしなくてもflacに変換してしまえば解決する話ではあります。【USB DACとして】・それなりに遅延します。つなぎっぱなしで動画再生などでも使おうと考えている場合は注意が必要です。オンボードサウンドと二重出力してみましたが、無視できない量明らかに遅れます。・PC側の音量は100で固定されます。本機は音量つまみがあるので特に問題ありません。・厳密には本機の話ではないですが、PC側の設定で音源と出力のサンプリングレートがずれていると音が劣化します。windowsの微妙な変換処理によりなんだかスカスカな音になってしまい非常にもったいないので、音源に合わせるようにしましょう。【音質】・耳の肥えていない一般人なのでどうこう語ることはできませんが、確実なのはノイズの少なさです。半端な機器では「サー」というノイズを拾うイヤホンでも、本機ではほとんど無音になります。外部電源供給時は電源の影響を多少受けるようです。まともな電源ならまず気にならないレベルに抑えてくれますが、安物のACアダプタで給電したノートPCにつないだ時は流石に影響を抑えられずノイズが乗りました。【その他】・SDカードのスキャンを起動毎に行う設定にしておくと、かなり待たされることになります。オプションから手動に変更できます。実用上ほぼ必須の設定です。・かなり熱を持ちます。夏の室温では触って熱く感じる程度（「暖かい」よりは上）まで上昇します。PCにつなぎっぱなしで使用していたら熱暴走したのか、PC側からの認識がおかしくなりシャットダウン時にブルスクったことがあります。・本体の赤色は商品画像より落ち着いた発色です。・インジケータランプはかなり明るいです。暗い部屋では影ができるレベルです。

大幅な値崩れを見てなんとなく購入してしまいました。音楽プレイヤーとしての評判があまりにあんまりなので専らスマホやDACに繋いでポタアンとして使っています。以前から使っていたFiio Q1 Mark2が取説を読まなくても使えてしまいそうなくらいフレンドリーなのに比べると、このP90SDは注文の多い印象です。ポタアンではあるのですがプレイヤー機能を搭載しているためか起動時に読み込み時間が発生、またそれなりに大きく重たいので今ひとつポータブルではなく、持ち運べる据え置き機とでも言うべき使用感です。一度充電中にインジケーターを点滅させながらひどく発熱したこともあり、動作の安定性も今一歩。操作性ではただひとつ、音量ダイヤルの段階の細かさで本機に軍配が上がります。しかし音の良さは確かなものです。めっちゃ俗な表現ですが、さすが元7万。デジタル接続でDACアンプとして使えばドッシリシャキッと芯を感じる力強い音。ヘッドホンにはもちろん車のAUX端子に入力してもいい仕事をしてくれます。（イヤホンと組み合わせる場合、手持ちの中だとE3000やE700M、LS200あたりとの相性がいいと感じます）そしてやはりというか、アナログアンプとしても素性がいいようで、上流の音を繊細かつ豊かに増幅してくれます。DAC部よりこっちが本命かもしれません。DP-S1AやQ5sからのライン接続、とてもいいです。ぶっちゃけた話、「試聴してたらMojoがあればいいやってなっただろうな」と思ったりもするのも事実です。が、それと同時に「同じ2万使うなら他のポタアンやプレイヤーよりこれだな」と思うのも事実。なんやかんやでアナログアンプとしてはmojoと同じくらい気に入って使い分けています。2万円以下の範囲で使いやすさや音の好みはさて置き（凡そさて置かない方がいいんですが）金額以上の「良い音」を手に入れたいということであればアリかな、という製品でした。
