Unique Usages Case - Product Works BETTER Than Expected ****UPDATE
UPDATE: Well, with my glowing review below, it just wasn't meant to be. It's dead, at least it's acting that way.. The top lights just flash when I try to turn it on. I tried every combination of the buttons, I cleaned all the connections, and NOTHING. When you go to turn it on, the top lights flash 3 times, it seems like some kind of code, but I can not find a manual online ANYWHERE. If anyone has a simple fix, please let me know. This product was working so well.. but come one 5 MONTHS and it just dies? Not Cool.Admittedly, I purchased this product for a very specific issue. I am nearly 60 and I VAPE. I know.. I know.. I also am disabled and spend most of my time in my Computer Room that is probably 15x15. Since "vape smoke" is 99% water vapor it sometimes "hangs" in the air and gets on my electronics, not to a great extent, just a noticeable "film" of water. This product has eliminated that 100%. It's really quite amazing how well this product removes water from the air. I empty it about once a week.- Sound - The item is about 3 feet from me at all times, and I barely hear it. If your not paying attention the noise fades into the background.- Effectiveness - Spec'd for 16oz a day, it does that if not a bit more.- Ease of Use - Two buttons - Press or Hold - It's as easy as it gets. It is set it and forget it (except when you have to empty it, 1 per week for me, more if you live in a heavy humid place, say like Florida.- Price - I OVER compare anything I buy, so everything that matters and the area I needed, this is a good deal.I OVER spec'd my model, I suggest you do the same. If you need it for a room 20x20 by one rated double (if you can). Good products that just work seem to be rarer and rarer. This one does exactly what it says it will do, and a bit more.UPDATE: It's been 2 months now, this little machine is working HARD and perfectly. As stated in my original post, my gaming room is basically a 10x10 room. I vape a lot which puts water vapor in the air which can damage my PC. There used to be a "cloud" in this room, all the time, since I got this dehumidifier it's just gone. It takes about a week before I need to empty it. My original suggest STILL STANDS... if you need one, buy one TWICE the size you need. I did and I am really happy I made that decision.

Save your money and but a real dehumidifier
After 6 months, I broke down and bought a real dehumidifier.I live on the ground floor where one side is underground and the other side is a ground floor. On a very humid bathroom (70%+ humidity), this unit would draw 1/4 gallon of water over a few days. I measured the unit's power consumption and it consumes around 50 watts/hr of electricity. On other days, it's running at the same wattage but are unable to pull out any humidity. When my Ecoboee Premium would throw numerous excessive humidity warnings, I gave in and bought a real dehumidifier. And while the bigger unit draws almost 9x more electricity, it would easily collect 2-3 gallons in a single day. So let's translate this. So this unit consumes 400 watts for one gallon on a very good day. The other unit consumes 150-250 watts per gallon of water extracted.Wasting energyThis unit also has no notion of turning off at certain humidity levels. It just runs and sucks down ~50 watts per hour. At around 50% humidity, I noticed it would struggle to pull out water but kept running.Unable to draw out waterAs I mentioned above, even at 50%, I noticed this unit is only able to pull very little water out. So ~400 watts per gallon is the best case. At moderate humidity, it's well over 1k+ of electricity to pull out a gallon of water.A general flaw:I think the concept, as a whole, is flawed. Any small unit would suffer the same. Save your money and spend it on a larger unit that has an extraction unit with at least a few gallons.

Pleasantly surprised to find this small, good looking, compressorless dehumidier!
My wife totally loves this little guy. It's small and fits on the counter in our bathroom right next to the sink. It's not silent, but it makes a pleasing fan noise with no compressor grind/hum. It looks great in that location. The lights are a nice touch. With room temp around 72 degrees F, the air coming out of the top feels just a little warm to my hand. I don't think it was raising the temperature of the room.I confirmed the power it's drawing and it'll only cost pennies to run around the clock daily. My teen daughters like long showers and we don't have an exhaust fan. This dehumidifier helps the bathroom recover more quickly after a shower.I'm going to say the device is performing exactly as advertised. Don't expect it to remove as much water as quickly as a loud compresssor-based model. That's the advantage of this type of dehumidifier - you get some drying without so much noise.Another reviewer provided a time-lapse showing the device filling over about three days. I had similar results. Mine filled over three or four days. The tank is 35 oz.Between showers, my bathroom was usually around 72 degrees and humidity around 55%-60%. The device states it can pull 16 oz per day at 86 degrees F and 80% humidity. Even compressor-based models pull less than their rated amount when closer to 50% humidity. The rate that it was filling its tank is what I was expecting.
