It’s an improvement on the older light
The new light for SF houses or cottages is definitely an improvement. It’s brighter and whiter. A very happy little girl can now play with her bunny’s and hogs with lit rooms in her cottages and houses. Only downside is how many we need;)

Much better than the 4268 - Home Interiors Set
This light is far superior to the one included in the 4268 - Home Interiors Set which was powered by one of those flat round batteries. This one is much brighter, the only draw back is that it's slightly bigger as it houses two AAA batteries, however fits in the same slot okay as the 4268 one and doesn't spoil play. Excellent improvement.
