Durable paper and very practical to take along because of the smaller size. They work great as sketch pads for kids while traveling, at home, or out at a restaurant. The paper is of good quality and thick enough that markers don't bleed through. It's one of my go to kids gifts for varying ages - one of these along with some markers, crayons, or colored pencils. It's a good value for the money as well.

The inside cover has a "how to draw" goldfish and butterfly to get them started. Solid, durable, and exactly the right size for small hands when a big sketchbook sometimes feels cumbersome. Love these! Big fan of sketchbooks, especially smaller ones I can keep in my purse. I’m a writer but I don’t like being confined by lines since I like to insert lots of notes. I ended up giving one to my little five year old as she’s just starting to enjoy drawing. She’s even been tearing out pages and folding them to make special little cards for people. So cute!
