helped my kid get over her firework fear
my 3 year old daughter loves Daniel tiger and even learned to potty train to his show and his music so I knew it was the way to go in helping her get over her fear of fireworks. shes not a big fan of loud noises so we bought her earmuffs like you'd use on a gun range, and we bought her this book to get her excited over fireworks so she knew it wasn't some scary explosion. for the first time in years we were able to enjoy the light show together and I owe a big portion of that to this book. Daniel tiger is a great role model and educational tool for children and this book is no different from his other great works.

Helped Tremendously
It follows the episode and includes the same song (it aired here for the first time July 4th, so before then I made up a different tune). Our 2-1/2 year old has been completely terrified by fireworks when we have tried to take her. We read this book with her and started talking about the fireworks for about 4 weeks and she enjoyed the fireworks for the first time ever. We were so pleased. Daniel Tiger is her favorite and I think it helped that the story line involved Daniel also being frightened by the fireworks. As a bonus the story also includes Margaret being afraid to fireflies, which our daughter has also been afraid of, so for us it was an unexpected 2-for-1 bonus. If your child loves Daniel Tiger and is frightened by fireworks (or fireflies), I recommend this book definitely.

Regular Read at Our House. Two Year Old Loves It!
I bought this as a gift for my daughter's 2nd birthday this past summer. I don't recall this episode specifically but we love the story. It's one that gets read frequently at our house. It is paperback and the pages are not very thick, but my 2 year old has a gentle touch. I don't think this book would hold up well to a lot of rough handling. Also, my 2 year old loves to sit and listen to books but some children her age would have a hard time sitting through this entire book. There are a lot of words on each page (for a kids book) and the pace might not be fast enough to keep their attention. Probably a better age would be 3-4 unless you have a little book worm like I do.

Good read. Perfect for the little one.
Love this as I got this day before 4th of July and we have a new baby. So sweet, my older one learned how to not get scared at the same time how to support her younger sibling. Recommend to anyone who has a little one at home.

I liked the book but I wish it was sturdier.

Cute Story!
cute story about the 4th of July! My three year old daughter loves Daniel tiger and she loves this book. Gives a good lesson about not to be afraid of the noise the fireworks make. Definitely worth the money for a fun story to help celebrate.
