my daughter who is a writer, couldn't stop talking about how this book was so good, so i had to read it. I passed it on to my mom during the 1st month of covid-19 and she liked it also . I like the realness of it and Alice Walker has always been a great writer.

So many emotions
I found this hard to read at times, but in the best way. It made me consider my friends of colour and what their feelings for me might be beneath the surface and what kind of an ally I am. The Color Purple changed my life, and I'm grateful to be able to check into the rest of her work finally.

Short stories with substance
A multitude of short stories that focuses on the demise, mistreatment, myths, and like of women. These stories held a lot of truth and informative thoughts about how society reviews women. There's one short story that had a good, structural test where women viewed themselves on roles that were lesser than they are now or degrading. Gives you the opportunity to walk in someone else's shoes.

Walker can write
I have had to write some fiction for college classes and was reading a lot of short stories to get an idea of what is out there. Alice Walker is among the best writers ever, able to experiment and work with different styles. I could not put this book down.
