Review: Absolutely outstanding - I was in search of books to help me in my personal growth and development when this popped up. The title alone, THINK LIKE A WARRIOR The Five Inner Beliefs That Make You Unstoppable, screamed everything I wanted in a book. The title alone convinced me this book had what I needed. So I ignored the fact that I knew absolutely nothing about football and could miss a lot because I would not understand the terminology being used to make his points. Turns out I really didn't need to understand those things. The way Darrin Donnelly writes kept me glued to my laptop screen way longer than I gave myself time for. I could not stop reading! On my "do nothing" day I HAD TO read more. I read a lot of books and over the years it is rare to find one that has me so absorbed and craving more. His stories within the story are captivating and feel so real. And by the end of the book I felt like a warrior! I felt like I was right there with the coach as he was overwhelmed with joy and pride in his team. The lessons learned are all valid and applicable to every life, career, or pursuit. His five inner beliefs are now part of my daily affirmation time. This book delivers detailed steps to help you become the warrior you want to be. The stories Darrin Donnelly uses to convey these steps helps you see the life application before you go out and do it yourself. I would encourage anyone looking for steps to being great at whatever you do or want to do to read this. Review: I would rate this easily as a Top 3 book that I have purchased in the last 20 years. PHENOMENAL READ!!! A+++++ - We bought all 3 of the books in this series - I just left a 5* review on Relentless Optimism as we didn't know there was an order to the books, and started with that one first. GREAT BOOK BTW!!! I read your books to my 9 year old son who suffers from some low self confidence, and self esteem... I believe that by reading these books and some of teh very simple passages that for instance in Think Like A Warrior - each of the great coaches who come back to visit Chris have a very simple takeaway... We loved each of theirs and the coaches he choose were spot on... but Woodens was the best - You have control over your attitude and your effort. My son says that to me now everyday before he gets on the bus. "Dad, I have control over my attitude and my effort". You could have charged $100 - hearing him say that to me everyday since we started this book 5 days ago is priceless. He also engages in discussion with me about what things mean, and asks a lot of questions 'what if'... it has him very hooked into wanting to know more, and honestly - I've gotten a great deal out of this book. We have 2 more chapters to go and we're hoping that Chris stays @ Wisconsin State!!! The lessons and how Darrin applied them to the characters in the story - are just phenomenal. Great book - 1 more book of yours to go after this - Old School Grit!!! A+++++++ Write more!!!

A great read, and highly recommended!
Darrin Donnelly's book is a great read! A novel, Mr. Donnelly tells the story of a football coach who is trying to navigate his own shortcomings and, at the same time, motivate his players. He adopts the warrior mentality, both for himself (of which he must remind himself regularly) and his players - to fight through adversity to achieve excellence. This book has a different focus of purpose than mine, "On Warriorship, A Guide For Your Warrior Path," (a primer on the subject of warriorship), but for the coach or the athlete (of any sport) is a great companion book to "On Warriorship." I also bought a copy of Mr. Donnelly's book for a friend of mine who coaches football, and I highly recommend this work!

Is It Worth It? (Reading Edition)
This book is a nice, quick read. Ill be honest and say I didn't like every meaning in the book but think it's a nice book overall.I really did like that the author used legendary figures to bring home the points the author was trying to make. Puts an interesting spin on a book. I agree that you cannot control the outcome of a situation but you can control your actions and mindset. Further chapters seemed to undo that philosophy though, when the author starts stating to visualize your future. It seems a bit contradictory to say not to focus on the past or future then in later chapters tell you to visualize your future. Another section that was rather eh..ish..was the section dealing wIth faIth. I do not mind so much the topic of Christianity. I actually think most religions are interesting. I absolutely hate it, when it's mentioned that people think they do their best but aren't really, that's a very subjective thing to say and it can't really be said truthfully unless you are that person. Also the thinking that If you don't achieve your dream God has other plans for you..Maybe but I tend to think that life is life. Hardwork and determination doesn't always pay off. Just take a look at history, I'm pretty sure there were some slaves who thought they would work hard and buy they're freedom. For some it worked but for the mass majority???No. I'm still on the fence about the section dealing wIth faIth or fear. I thought the coaches realistic stance on winning or losing based on past evidence was spot on. But I also understand every part of the decision making process can't be made in fear. I think faith is warranty but a healthy dose of reality isn't bad eIther. The author also states that grit is not something you are born wIth but can be cultivated. After reading a myriad of studies dealing wIth personality. I think some people are born wIth grit. That's not too say it can't be cultivated because I truly think it can. It's too say grit may be a bit more natural for some. The premise still stands on solid ground, do your best in each moment. Truly is one of those golden nuggets of advice that tends to get lost because we are so focused on the past or future. Overall I did enjoy this book, simply because we may not achieve our dreams, but society and the individual is benefited by everyone becoming the best version of themselves. So is it worth it? At a price point of 7.99 yes. Is this book revolutionary reading? Not in today's age. Would I reread this work? YES.

My 14 year old son is enjoying this book so much.
I’m not sure how I bumped into this book while searching on Amazon. However, I am glad that I did. I purchased it for my 14-year-old son, who I felt needed a little inspiration in his life. Not knowing 100% what this book was about I purchased it and he has been reading it and has definitely been enjoying it. And he does not like reading, lol. But he looks forward to reading the next chapter And has grown in insight and inspiration which he needs right now as he journeys soon to high school and sports. I read this book at night after he has gone to bed so that I can understand what he is learning and also have deep conversations with him. It’s definitely allowed a time for us to have deep discussions full of faith, inspiration, and determination. I highly recommend it no matter your age! Its got great advise for all ages, profession and background!

Read this!!!
Amazing read. I’m not the biggest reader out there, but I decided to look into reading something for coaching. I wanted to find something that could give me insight on the right things to teach my players on how they need to approach the game and life itself. I was not expecting this to hit me as big as it did. I gained so much wisdom and insight on aspects I never really thought about. I plan to use these same methods through my coaching career going forward. I highly recommend you read this no matter what profession you’re in. Whether you’re a coach, player, teacher, parent, businessperson, or whatever, you need to read this.

Good
Bought this book for my son, who plays junior hockey, and he found it very helpful. The Juniors life is not easy, and this helps him process the emotions that go along with the journey.

great read
I really enjoyed this book. As an athlete, little league coach, and parent of an athlete, this was helpful. I was a headcase when I played softball in highschool and want to save my kid from the same frustrations. Hopefully the things I learned here can help.
