Easy to set up with ubuntu-16.04
It was what I expected, arriving much sooner than expected. It was easy to install ubuntu-16.04, and is working fine for the 1/2 day that I've had it. I haven't checked the audio or the uSD reader yet, but everything else is working. The only disappointment so far is that FreeBSD 11.0-RC1 wouldn't install, but that really didn't surprise me or affect it's utility. Edit: FreeBSD 11.1 does install, although I haven't been able to get sound to work yet. Edit: I am less impressed with this item after using it for a while. The concern here is that the performance of the processor is a lot less than what I would have expected. Running a fairly CPU intensive program (one that attempts to use all of the cores), the performance of this 4-core processor ends up being less than that of a 2-core N2840 Celeron processor in a Toshiba laptop. Based on Passmark benchmark results from the web, I would have expected that the Compute Stick processor would be 3x faster, rather than slower. Some review articles on the web suggest that the difference is the result of thermal throttling of the Compute Stick processor when it is under heavy load for long times (and that the benchmarks are based on short tests that end before thermal throttling can take effect). At this time I'm not going to remove any stars, but may do so in the future after more investigation. Further Edit: I've done more testing, and have decided that for me this product is not worth the extra cost over that of one of the Atom-based Compute sticks. The performance of this device was so far below that I was hoping for that I purchased a 1st generation Ubuntu-based Compute Stick (for about $50 on Amazon). That part has a Z3735F CPU, 8GB Flash Memory and 1GB of RAM. I ran the same program which uses all four cores and runs for more that 1/2 hour, and discovered that the m3-based part was only about 33% faster. The other advantages of the m3 part (3 USB-3.0 ports vs 1 USB-2.0 port, 64Gb vs 8Gb of Flash memory, and 4GB vs 1GB RAM) did not make it worthwhile for me to spend 6x as much for the M3 Compute Stick, although ymmv. I'm not going to remove any stars because my needs are quite a bit different from the needs of most of the prospective purchasers of this product, although I would caution that this device may not be all that much faster than similar Atom-based products.

A very portable, powerful and versatile windows 10 on a stick
Pros: Most importantly, a full featured Windows PC with powerful CPU/GPU. I have tried chromecast stick, roku stick, Amazon’s fire TV, Apple TV, a fanless PC, and came to realization that for “apps”, most of time windows version always has the best usability/feature, and reliability. I have it streamed 1080p online video, CPU utilization hovering around 20%. The HDMI port can also output 7.1 DTS audio easily. Portability is awesome, can’t wait to try during vacation. Cons: From time to time the tiny fan could be a little noisy. It could get faily warm. The companion power adapter is faily huge (probably due to extra USB ports for keyboard + mouse). I’m going to replace with a smaller one. Update, just purchased a 3ft "AmazonBasics USB Type-C to USB Type-C Cable", along with a "iClever USB Type-C with Power Delivery 30W USB Wall Charger Adapter", paired with Logitech wireless keyboard/touch pad, much more compact and works way better.

I would add a usb fan to a hub to keep the stick cool as it heats up
Came as advertised, but had a VERY difficult time getting windows 10 on it. ORDER COMPUTE STICK WITH WINDOWS 10 PRE-INSTALLED and save yourself A LOT of headachce!!!! I had 2 shops that were unable to install an operating system but eventually got it installed. After getting the OS installed, the stick runs smooth. For longevity, I would add a usb fan to a hub to keep the stick cool as it heats up. Before you invest in the stick, do your research and make sure that ALL of your old software is compatible as I’m finding windows 10 just does not support all tthe drivers of some older software- it will install but won’t launch and give you comport errors. There are ways around this but it kinda defeats the purpose of getting windows 10. Would appreciate it if Intel made the M series processor sticks compatible with windows 7 as it was simpler and far more forgiving than windows 10. Get prepared for flash and/or external drives as the supplied 64 GB evaporates QUICKLY.

In particular I find it to be a lot better than say a console or cheaper PC set up ...
Put Ubuntu onto this and you'll have a media PC that will beat just about any other halfway solution. In particular I find it to be a lot better than say a console or cheaper PC set up with Kodi(I really hate the interface for Kodi). On top of that the PC works very well for browsing and its very small, it's even powerful enough to run games and even some emulators. Throw in a MicroSD card and you'll fix any storage problems you'll have with it. The only downside is that the little "on" LED light is very very bright and in dark rooms(like a theater room) it can actually light up and shine on the ceiling. It's not noticeable in normal lighting conditions but is far too bright in a dark room.

Npt bad :)
Straight out of the box - hardware/driver issues. Windows 10 failed to install properly. Infamous C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt errors. I've dealt with these before with VERY little success. Almost exclusively on these pocket PC's. Not even going to waste the day away with this one and skip straight to the return... ***EDIT*** (Upgraded from 1 to 4 stars) After some troubleshooting and tweaking I managed to successfully install Windows. Its definitely fast for it's size! However, I decided I'm going to go a few steps up and upgrade to an Intel Nuke Skull Canyon :p

Very impressed with this - we needed a system that wouldn't take up much space in a small office and this fits the bill perfectly. About the size of a TV remote, it's tucked behind our monitor and you wouldn't even know it was there. With some USB ports on the charger, it offers a decent amount of connectivity, and we're running a a wireless mouse/keyboard and a USB hub. This doesn't come with Windows installed, so we had to purchase a license for that, but installation went perfectly. Lastly, i'm super impressed with performance. I'm sure the flash storage plays a big part, but even running multiple browser tabs, Outlook, Word, Excel and playing Music on Spotify, I couldn't detect any sort of slow down. I've used laptops twice the price of this that have felt considerably slower and struggled with the above apps running. All in all, if you're looking for a decent little Office computer, or something to do some casual work/browsing on - this is a really good choice. You will need to have the knowledge (or know someone!) to install Windows, but after that it's plain sailing.

ぬるぬるサクサクの夢のスティックPCです。 Atomと違ってとても快適に動きます。 ただし割とホカホカになります。
