Well worth the extra few bucks
This pedal is miles above the standard hihat pedals with the rubber inside that wears out quickly. If you are on the fence for a replacement pedal, get this!

Better than the original , but …
I’m no John Bonham, so I probably can’t pick up on the small details that are really good drummer would to offer for your consideration. It works well for my casual plan, though I am scared because I see that the sensor on these things goes.. I’m hoping that only happens for the serious daily drummer , or that the problem was fixed And that this is the better version. It’s probably the former, knowing how businesses work, but so far , so good.

Perfect but pricey
I bought a used Roland TD-6V locally that was in excellent shape. Everything worked perfectly except for the hi hat controller. The rubber piece hardened up and couldn’t make contact with the sensor. I looked at and considered a few “fixes” but ultimately decided to go new. Seems like all the Roland stuff is expensive but hopefully it lasts a long time.

It works great with my Roland SPD-SX Pro!
What I like about this hi-hat pedal is that it’s compact than carrying a whole hi-hat stand. I can pack this pedal along with my KT-9 bass drum pedal in a foam lined plastic case.

Professional
Iam a Professional Drummer in Los Angeles. This pedal has the pedal and accuracy if you don't have room in drum room for a regular hihat stand. The response is excellent and after adjusting the tension, it felt like a perfect fit. There is very little latency if any at all. It will also fit side by side with my acoustic Hihat to use as an addition to my acoustic kit without taking to much room in my hardware case, and as well, a low profile onstage.

Experiencing Sensitivity Issues with FD-9 Hi-Hat Pedal on Roland TD-9 Module
I am experiencing difficulties with the sensitivity of the FD-9 hi-hat pedal on the Roland TD-9 module, which requires me to apply excessive force to achieve a closed hi-hat sound. We have already reviewed the sensitivity settings, fixed hi-hat configuration, and pedal volume. Removing one of the springs improved the situation; however, it still seems poorly designed. Moreover, the manual that comes with the Roland TD-9 module does not address any of these issues. I will be returning this item... this is worse than FD-8
