Very happy with kit. I knew nothing about re-keying locks, but this kit and YouTube was all the I needed.

Saved a ton of money!
This kid allowed me to re-key 12 doorknobs in the house I just bought. Keep them all to the same key. Locksmith wanted over $400 to do it.

Good keyset
Took a minute to remember how to change locks but this set works great.

It works but kit is not complete for all Kwikset locks
This kit had the correct pins to do the job. I had a square tube style door knob lock cylinder and the insertion sleeve does not work on this style. You can not butt the sleeve to the lock cylinder because the end of the lock cylinder is curved. I had to fully disassemble the lock to repin. It took more time but I got it done.

Love the color coding of the pins
Was able to re-key my screen door (which had a Kwikset-style lock but not SmartKey compatible) somewhat easily with this kit. I had never tried re-keying a lock like this before, but am somewhat technically inclined so was able to figure out easily enough. The kit comes with basically everything you need, but maybe get some good tweezers, to handle the tiny pins more easily.

Buy this-if you want to experience HOURS of frustration
This product is awful. You will spend hours trying to make this work. The pins aren’t accurate and no matter how hard you try to rekey your lock, in the end it won’t work. Worse is you get the key in thinking “it’s good enough” and the lock seizes up and becomes useless.For nearly $80 this is a rip off.I bot the Kwikset package that does 5 locks. It worked flawlessly. But it only does 5 locks.

Very Good Kwikset Basic Lock Re-Key Kit, But No Instructions.
The media could not be loaded. VERY GOOD Kwikset standard door lock re-key kit and very reasonable. The only issue is that it does not include any form of instructions. It doesn’t even direct you to a website, so if you’re a first timer, beware. Even so, I was able to find plenty of YouTube videos that helped me to figure out how to use this kit. With this kit, I was able to re-key three door locks and two deadbolts. I would highly recommend this kit for anyone with patience and a little research ability. I’m very happy with it overall.
