Great way to connect a monitor
It just works. No issues with connecting to Mac Mini as a second monitor for tax purposes. Would buy again.

Excellent performance for computers with Thunderbolt ports that support DisplayPort
Previously, I used an adapter that supported Thunderbolt, but not in DisplayPort mode. That device caused odd performance problems, like a laggy mouse pointer and slow Enternet performance. The Plugable adapter however, works great with my Intel NUC that has a full-featured Thunderbolt port. No more odd performance problems! (During setup I did have to power down the computer to get the adapter to be fully recognized as a display device.)

MAC MINI - Screen Extender - GREAT!!
I wanted to use a 2nd screen with my new Mac mini. All I have is lighting ports and HDMI port. The HDMI is also on my computer screen. You can use a lighting port for a screen. You need THIS adapter. THIS WORKS. It took me 3 tries. Please get this!! It works great!!!

Currently incompatible with Surface Book 2 (but they're working on it)
This dongle does not [currently] work for the Surface Book 2. I have contacted support and they are planning to update the firmware on the dongles to make them compatible, but until then they do not function at all. UPDATE 12/6/17: Plugable support has been really great, and they are sending me an updated dongle. Will update my review once it works. It does currently work great for an HP x360 and Razer Pro laptop, so if you have one of those, go for it! UPDATE 12/8/17: The new dongle is in and works great with the Surface Book 2. I am told they will be updating the rest of their stock to be sure they are all compatible in the future, but I would not advise ordering one for the SB2 until you are sure it will work. Plugable support has been great, and they went to great lengths to fix the problem!

Worked well for just under a month, then stopped working.
Received this a month ago, and it worked exactly as expected for some time. However, about a week ago, the connection began being inconsistent and would cut in and out every so often; enough to be annoying, but still usable. As of today, the devices I've been using this with have stopped recognizing the adapter and won't output any signal. I've tried using other TVs, HDMI cables, and output devices and the problem has been determined to be the adapter. Failed after a month. Unbelievable.

Worked as expected
These are a great substitute for M chip Macs, if you don't want to spend hundreds on a docking station.

Great Little Adapter
Used this with a Surface Book 2 to use a TCL TV as a external display. Its relative small compared to some others, and worked with a spare Monster HDMI cable that was at least 5 years old. I had tried a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C/HDMI cable thinking it was backwards compatible, but it wasn't. The USB-C I/O on a Surface Book 2 is not Thunderbolt 3. Price isn't what I'd inexpensive, but it's certainly reasonable for what it is. Beats Apple's and Microsoft's prices for comparable adapters and is more compact.

random thoughts (NEW: UPDATE)
UPDATE: See the pic. Now I did drop the adapter which explains the broken casing, but the usb-c plug coming undone is surprising to me. Unfortunately, I'm out of the warranty period. Second update - The adapter did not consistently work with the 2018 iPad Pro, as it could output sound to some TVs but not to others. I would love the tech details on supported audio codecs here to better explain this. *another competing adapter worked with the older model TV.* Original post below: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First and foremost, I've been able to test with just an HD (1080p) output. I lack access to a 4k display to test that out, so I'll amend the review when I can play with the adapter on a 4k screen. On the 1080p screens the text wasn't sharp but I don't think you can fault the device for that. Audio was passed through just fine, but my Mac said 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz over 2 channels - this was not a stress test of the adapter's capabilities The device was lukewarm to touch during operation. That being said: If I had do just a touch more research I might have found an adapter that supports HDMI 2.0a, which is the HDR10 (and drive a little more value from the small device). DisplayPort 1.2 documentation about HDR10 is nebulous, so its hard to fault the seller for this limitation (although... the LG ultra fine monitors support dci-p3 color with Multistream transport DP 1.2 - It's gotta be possible to have the better color space).

It works well, but will NOT give an M1 MAC a second external monitor.
Despite what I've seen on Youtube, this product will not enable multiple monitors on an M1 Mac, even with software ( as of July 2021 ). Multiple displays are possible but depend on a very expensive splitter that is software controlled. This product only does what it says on the box - and its solid manufacture should make it last well.

Great adapter
High quality usb-c to hdmi adapter. Supported me for 4K60. I didn’t check the chroma level though - possibly 4-2-4 though cld be 4-4-4

Plug and play (for me on both windows and linux)
Only used it for the day so far, but it has been perfect. Plugged it into my XPS 13 (9350) on windows 10, and it instantly brought up the screen. I put the machine to sleep several times, and it came back to life as I left it. I then booted into linux (xubuntu 16.10), and got ready for a more difficult birth. As it was, I plugged it in and it instantly worked! I've used it on linux for most of the day, and it has been perfect as well. Gone to sleep, and come back numerous times. So far I'm very very impressed. I haven't noticed any kind of screen lag, and it doesn't appear to use very much cpu. I've also been really impressed with the products from this company, as well as their customer-first philosophy.

Funciona perfectamente
