Was ok
Book was ok, didnt love it didnt hate it. The relationship between Eva and Gideon moved way to fast that it was unrealistic. They went from meeting in the lift once to girlfriend/boyfriend that didnt actually know anything about each other and still dont by the end of the book. Their whole relationship is based on sex alone there was no build up nothing. Both backgrounds get touched upon briefly, more so Evas, which perhaps is an indication Gideons past would be more in the next book? Both characters have issues in their past life. For me Eva came across as very childish, rather sulky and the author made her out as though regardless of how she is feeling it doesn’t matter as long as Gideon has sex with her. Gideons character started off as this hot hunk that everyone wanted he has the domineering personality but then I feel like he loses that about halfway in the book, where he isn't domineering anymore, more like a lovesick teenager. The last couple of chapters where Gideons ex turns up made the book a little more interesting, not much though. For how little plot wise actually happens in this book the author could have definitely made this a shorter book. Overall for a one off read maybe give it a go however, I wouldn’t read again.

Ok but not as good as I thought it would be
I kinda knew what I was getting into with this book, and as I did really love the fifty shades series, I thought this might give it a run for its money. It all just feel a little too close to the fifty shades stories. What I did like about this book was the underlying current of history the main characters have. In fact, I don't think I have ever read a book where so many of the main characters have "baggage" 😂. It's a reasonably enticing story. I found myself getting curious about the baggage everyone has which made me read it quicker than expected. But the ending left me confused. It just ended! There was no warning. It literally just ended. So now I have to buy the next book in the series! Good marketing tactic clearly!

Erotic but with a story!
I saw people talking about this book off the back of conversations about the Fifty Shades Trilogy so I thought I'd check it out. I was pleasantly surprised! There are many similarities to the Fifty Shades in that a young woman stumbles into the office of a very attractive and wealthy businessman and he wants to "make love" to her straight away. There is a story to this book and to me the characters are slightly more believable. Both the male and female leads have been scared from childhood experiences which become clearer as the story progresses. I think I understood Gideon a little more than Eva as I had trouble with the repetition of her "running away". Whilst there is less "sex" to this book than others on the market, what there is very real and "normal", it doesn't venture into the S&M area therefore some may find easier to read. I would point out that what there is extremely detailed and may make those that blush easy do exactly that!Sylvia Day has written a very descriptive and erotic book that may not interest everyone. It stands alone as a single book however, there are still some things that are not explained and if you felt some connection with the leads I am sure this would make you want to read the other two books that will be published by Penguin - Deeper in You will be available in October 2012.I believe that this book has a lot less hype in the UK, however it has been a huge success over in America. Overall, I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I am not totally sure if it was the story I enjoyed or the subject matter!!! (This is a genre I never thought I'd get into but it's the fourth book like it I've read in less than 3 weeks!) For those that can't decide if they want to read such genre may I suggest you try this one first over others in the Market.

loved it.......but christian grey is still no 1!!
To start with i was looking for a book to read on similar lines to 50 shades of grey. AND I FOUND IT.After i finished fsog trilogy i was left with a huge hole to fill. My friend recommended this book "bared to you" and let me tell you this book did not disappoint me at all it was a great read. I could nt put it down it was soo addictive. It is very very similar to fsog even identical in some places. I thought the writing was better though more realistic, the language was described better. In my opinion it was more erotic (but not as kinky) if that makes sense? but still red hot whoo hoo.I love Eva she is a real gutsy woman and Gideon cross mmmm he sounds just divine but im afraid christian grey is still my no 1. hahaBack to this book! I LOVED IT and didnt want it to end i cant believe i have to wait until october to read the next installment "reflected in you". Ive actually just pre-ordered it so i get it as soon as it comes out.If you loved 50 shades and you are looking for a replacement then this book is definatley for you please please indulge yourself in this book!I did actually prefer the fifty shades trilogy but i would definatley recommend bared to you!!!!

not 50 shades but worth a read!
I read this on the back of 50,which I absolutely loved..and I have to say I relly enjoyed this first installment of the Crossfire novels. I loved the fact the characters were challenged with both of them having serious issues in their past that they have to deal with, and as a result much preferred Eva to Ana..its good to see Eva has a pair of b~lls when needed!Yes the parrallels are there with 50 shades, from the wealthy dropdead gorgeous man,the beautiful rival female etc etc..but hey I couldn't put the book down as was surprised it ended when it did, after a fairly important episode, altho I understand the next book is on its was so I guess it makes sense. The sex scenes are hot!! No real BDSM but hey who cares!!I really don't understand the negative reviews banging on about realism...surely mature adult readers are aware men like Christian Grey and Gideon Cross dont really exist?? nor does Harry Potter or Edward Cullen!!! ITS A BOOK!! if you want realism read an autobiography!!Read it if you've read 50 shades...read it if you haven't..but seriously give it a go!! Cant wait for the next part!
