Wow!! Incredible, but requires work to get there.....
Out of the box, this laptop was not performing. Bad drivers, bloatware, etc. But, a little time, and some patience, and this is one of the best laptops out there with a 2070/2080 RTX. Better than Razer, Alienware and most others in it's class. Better NVME drives, larger capacity (1TB vs. 500GB) better memory and easy to upgrade. Here is my suggestion:1. Install another 16gb stick of ram. It ships with 16gb on a single stick. This is single channel. The motherboard has an empty slot, and by adding another 16gb stick, you gain the benefits of dual channel ram.2. Reinstall a clean version of windows. It's easy. You can do it by simply pressing f9 when you get the laptop and selecting to do a fresh install. Once loaded, Install new Nvidia drivers and a few others and you are good. Make sure you update to the latest October update of Windows.3. I added another 1TB SSD. Why? It's cheap. Another 130 bucks gets you a total of 2 TB if High end, SSD Storage.Once complete, set the fans to auto using the Smart Manager software and that's it. I continually benchmark in the high 85th to 90th percentile using most of the 3Dmark tests. Valley and Heaven are also scoring high as well.Great system, great company and rock solid performance. Beautiful LG 144hz screen is the icing on the cake. The keyboard is awesome and love the LED Backlighting. Full Color (16 Million +) LED backlit keyboard allows full customization of the color schemes and templates. This is my 5th Gigabyte laptop. They have all gotten better and better. This is an amazing system. 6-7 hrs on battery with light use, and around 3hrs with heavy gaming.Don't worry, just buy it. It's the best out there!

Great for Creatives (After Effects!) and Great for Gamers, But Undervolt is a Must!
TL;DR:Perfect for creatives that work in After Effects and all the Adobe Creative Cloud apps. Perfect for gaming too. BUT, I highly recommend performing a clean Windows install, an option easily found in settings. I also recommend using Intel XTU to undervolt to -.120. No performance loss, and will help run cooler. Now for the in-depthiness. Out of the box, I had issues with Premiere Pro video playback. I'm talkin' skipping frames, and even just not playing at all. When first opening Premiere, it was fine. Closing the app and reopening to continue a project was when the problem happened. Even uninstalling then reinstalling Premiere ended up with the same issue of poor playback experience. The clean Windows install fixed this. You'll also need to reinstall the Gigabyte Aero smart manager to get control of the function button and fans again. Now you'll also notice this laptop runs hot. It's melty hot. Even the fans at 100% won't keep it below 90c when it's doing games like Division 2 or rendering a 90 second 2D animation in After Effects. Thankfully Intel has XTU, and you should install it after doing the clean Windows install. It's on the Aero out of the box, but you hopefully did that clean Windows install. After opening XTU, you'll just want to only change the undervolt setting. I set mine to -.120v. This just doesn't let the computer overload the cpu to the max. And you will not have loss of performance with this change. With undervolting, I'm working in After Effects with multiple videocopilot lightsaber layers and a bunch of animations. No hiccups, no playback lag. And for gaming, I'm playing The Division 2 with no framerate drops at 144hz. So good.Cons: fans are loud, screen feels cheap and flimsy, don't like spending $2500 and having to do a clean install because of bloatware...Pros: great for creative work, great for gaming, good quality screen, fast, clean install isn't that big of a deal so I stopped crying about having to click a few extra prompts

BEST GAMING LAPTOP WITH A "PROFESSIONAL LOOK" HANDS DOWN!
I am a director of I.T. for an accounting firm. I constantly have my hands on laptops from many vendors, old and new. While this is the first laptop I have touched from Gigabyte, I must say I am SERIOUSLY impressed with Gigabyte's ability to get a RTX 2070 in a laptop this thin and light and STILL KEEP IT CLASSY LOOKING AND IN PREMIUM MATERIALS! This is an all aluminum, jet-black laptop people. I can sit in the board room with my peers and work on this machine without being embarrassed of how it looks and still play the latest AAA games at ultra settings in full HD. What more could a "Professional Nerd" want! Oh, I know - how about the largest battery possible that is still allowed in a carry on bag during business trips?! Yes please!!!! I am SOOOOO happy with this purchase! Thank you Gigabyte!!
