Sorbothane Vibration Isolation Square Pad, 5"x5", 2 Pack (70 Duro, 0.50" Thick)

These were very effective in damping vibrations from a mini washing machine in an apartment - one of my neighbors gets too easily fussy about noise, even not so loud, and usually not so loud activity. These really helped avoid complaints. I used these in combination with heavier, thicker 4 inch square damping blocks for regular sized washers, dryers, pumps, compressors, etc. While they work great used by themselves, they're also fantastic when used in combination with thick to thinner other dampers.A little pricey, but I don't know what it takes to manufacture them, so I just go in to buying them expecting to pay what they've typically been costing. All in all I'm very happy with purchase. Plus the neighbor hasn't complained, so I guess that's a good recommendation too.

First, the downside: this stuff is very expensive.Second, the upside: this stuff is remarkable for its anti-vibration capabilities, and is usable in a variety of situations. I have used it in recent weeks to quiet the vibration of a pair of active monitors that pump out as much as 250 W on my desktop when I am working with composition and production software. A few dots of this plastic at each corner of the speakers means that my desk no longer vibrates in sympathy to a thumping bass line or buzzes in sync with high treble energy. It's remarkably successful in this capacity. Having a bit of it left around, I also use it as a pad under my jog / shuttle controller, which had a tendency to wander across the desk. My only concern in this application is that it is important for me to peel it off the stuff periodically to prevent the desk's finish from being damaged. This follows on a warning supplied with the material. The controller itself becomes virtually immobile when placed on a pad of Sorbothane. Next up- the washer and dryer...In the wars on vibration there is no better tool than Sorbothane.

I have used sorbothane to solve seemingly impossible problems in my home. First - a third floor air conditioner that shook and rattled the whole house when the compressor was on, second a blower in the attic that developed the same issue over time. The result after sorbothane - an amazingly quiet home with no vibration felt in the interior. My experience with the product - if you do what the negative reviewers did, you will have their experience. Instead, if you leave the clear plastic cover on the "very sticky" sorbothane, you won't have problems with marks and marred finishes. Instead, if you put your equipment on a sorbothane "ice cream sandwich" where the sorbothane is placed between two 1/2 inch boards of the same width, the feet and edges of your equipment won't cut through it and you will be a happy camper.

I liked the product but the mid-range rating reflects the price, which I think is high for what you get. The product seems to be doing what it say it will do but as noted previously, I'm not sure it's worth the price.

Bought this to place on the corners of a standby generator (525 lbs.). After one day, the generator literally cut through the material like a knife and consequently they no longer served its purpose. So the generator is sitting on the concrete pad not on the isolation pads as was intended. Material is way too soft for this application. A waste of money. Not sure what application this would work on (weight wise).

These seem to not be the hardness as advertised of 50 Duro. I purchased another product that also claimed 50 DURO and it is hard rubber. These are soft and can be easily depressed (and it leaves and indentation) when pressed with your thumb.Seems beyond the Durometer scale you also need to know which Shore (00,A or B) it is refeering to. Bought this for a WD NAS enclosure with 2 HDDs in it. I had this enclosure on a "floating cabinet," which is obviously hollow on the inside. The enclosure was vibrating at the resonant frequency of the floating cabinet, so the entire thing would vibrate loudly whenever I was using the HDDs.Just one of the 2 pads completely stopped the vibrations from transmitting to the cabinet. I now have a spare to use if I need it (for now, they're both under the enclosure). Also arrived very well packaged and exactly as described.

I purchased four of these pads and cut them each into four squares. I then installed them under a 4 Ton York package HVAC unit located on my roof. There was a significant reduction in vibration noticed in the house over the Wagner blue isolation pads I had before. Vibration was further reduced by stacking a second set of Sorbothane vibration isolation pads on top of the first. The material sticks to itself easily, so it is like I have used 1" thick pads instead of 0.5". There are several that appear to be stressed more than the others, so I am going to purchase another set to help distribute the weight more evenly. Previously, the vibration from the HVAC would wake me up at night. We hardly notice the vibration anymore.

Great product. We used it for our a/c unit. It has reduced vibrating noice noticeably.

We bought these as we live on a busy road, and our bed vibrates when buses pass by every ten minutes. We cut up the square to go under all four bed legs, and the two additional bed legs in the middle of our bed.We absolutely love this - it absorbs 90% of the vibration and has massively improved our sleep. Incredible bit of kit, very easy to cut. Would totally recommend.

Same thing as the material called Deflect. Good for taming structure born vibrations in loudspeakers, cars etc. Quite heavy, as it should be. Pay attention to the method of gluing, with a thin and strong layer of adhesive that transmits vibrations to the material more efficiently.
