Bug Bite Thing Suction Tool - Bug Bites and Bee/Wasp Stings, Natural Insect Bite Relief, Chemical Free, White

I'm a mosquito/gnat magnet and douse myself with bug spray when I walk my dog or garden pretty much any time of day. Even so, they get me and my bites itch and swell up unattractively, so I've had plenty of opportunities to use this Bug Bite Thing--bottom line is IT WORKS!! I find it works best to minimize itching/swelling if you can suction the bite location as soon as possible after you notice that you've been bitten and identify the bite-site. I do the suctions two times for each bite-site, for a solid 20 second-count (1 missouri, 2 missouri . . .) per suction, and the majority of the time, the area is barely itchy (if at all) and doesn't swell afterwards. A few times, I've actually suctioned a tiny bit of blood at the bite-site, and felt extremely satisfied knowing that the bugger's venom must have also been extracted. Just had one of those instance on my arm tonight, and there is no itch at all at that bite-site! I do find that the tool's effectiveness can be limited if the bites are on hard-to-suction areas (like my shin/ankle bones). Or if in a hard-to-reach area (back, shoulder etc) in which case I usually ask my husband to help.

I am a security guard and am often posted outside for 10-12 hours a night. My current post is guarding the outside of a building that has a small parking lot. A wash (desert equivalent of a ravine/river) sits right on the other side of the chainlink fence that follows the perimeter of this parking lot. And it's currently monsoon season so this wash is full of water/muck/tall grasses and all the flying insects that come with still water. (Mostly mosquitos and chiggers) So I'm stuck sitting about 6-20 feet away from it. I also don't have working ac in my truck so I roll the windows down. Needless to say, despite wearing literally THREE different kinds of insect repellant, I still get bit. A LOT. Personally, I don't think this thing actually removes the toxins from your skin. But I think it does do a decent job of bringing the venom/mosquito spit upwards toward the surface of your skin, enough to make the itch subside. Also, the feeling of the surprisingly powerful suction feels SOOOOO GOOD on the itchy bite. Does it work every single time? No. (It does NOT work on chigger bites, unfortunately, but if you look this up you'll discover that chiggers don't bite like gnats, mosquitoes, etc do. So this would make sense) But this thing works well enough for me to carry it with me whenever I go, and to absolutely recommend it to anyone who asks. It's also super easy to clean. I would 100% buy again. Side note: if you watch any of Coyote Peterson's venomous bite videos, you'll see he uses a professional-looking version of this little device. His is much bigger and is made of strong glass, and I'm pretty sure his actually DOES draw the venom all the way out of the skin, but either way when I saw him using it I was so excited. Him using the same sort of technology as this (in my mind) proves that it works. Lol. Update: so this thing DOES have the ability to suck out the venom. Sorry this pic is kind of gross TMI, but I applied heat to this bug bite and then used the bug bite thing 2x and wouldn't you know, there's something being sucked out if the bite here, as you can see in this close-up picture. I am satisfied. Lol.

I’ve used this a few times for bug bites and it definitely helped with the itching. It’s really easy to use and small enough to keep around. I just wish the suction was a little stronger. Overall, pretty handy and worth having around!

This simple device is great for providing two modes of suction on bites. The washable tip is either a broad (7/8"D) or small (1/4"D) suction on a bite. The tip is removable for cleaning. It is easy to use with one hand, so that bites on a hand or arm can be treated. The recommendation is not on the neck or face (for embarrassment of a hickey or not is unclear). It is a simple device with considerable use, including splinters (of which I have copious from a wood shop). I haven't had it long enough to judge longevity, but will get back if it's not reliable. Bottom line -- I like it a lot, and would recommend it.

We love hiking and camping but the summer humidiy brings out the horrible misquitoes! Those bites itch like crazy. This thing seems to kind of work in relief. After talking to a couple of entomologists (my daughter is obsessed with bugs), they confirmed that you can't really suck the venom back out -once its done there is barely anything left just below the surface, but that the placebo effect is basically just as good. Is it truly doing what it advertises? Maybe it's not actually sucking out the venom, but if it's making you "feel" relief then it's doing its job as advertised. Whether just a mental game or not, it appears to help so it's great for kids. Why not make the $10 investment?

This is the second one I have bought for our household. I won’t go outside without it. We are recent transplants to Florida, and these are the meanest mosquitoes I’ve ever met. Sure, the Louisiana mosquitoes are the size of hummingbirds, but they’re not real go-getters unless you’re in the swamp. These Florida mosquitoes are sociopathic. Insanely aggressive and their bites are nasty and itchy. AND THEY ARE IN OUR BACKYARD! Two days ago I was in the yard and was attacked by a gang of these creatures. They dive-bombed me from all angles and chomped down on me more or less simultaneously. Side note: At the same time I learned that “natural” bug repellent made with essential oils might work on less ambitious mosquitoes, but it didn’t work with these. I ran inside to avoid further attack and grabbed the Bug Thing. I had a huge bite on my forehead (one of 12 bites in total), and it itched like crazy. I didn’t want to do to my face what I did to my arm a few years ago, scratching like a maniac while I slept and ending up with a scarred arm and blood-stained sheets. So I busted out the Bug Thing. In my eagerness to get rid of the itching, and because the bite was big, I kept the suction going for a long time. Too long, as it turns out. I didn’t read the instructions with our first Bug Thing, because it seemed self-explanatory, but the devil’s always in the details, isn’t it? Turns out, there’s a big fat warning about not using it on your face. Who knew? (Everyone who read the instructions, but not the girl with the big purple circle on her forehead.) I regret NOTHING. This thing works amazingly well, and so what if I have a quarter-sized love bite on my forehead? Big whoop. THE BUG THING IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ITCHING. Bruises go away; scars from fingernails, not so much. Another word of advice: I bought several of a knock-off brand, thinking, “It’s a plastic barrel with a plunger, how hard could it be to replicate?” I guess fairly hard, because the knock-offs were flimsy and I couldn’t really get a good vacuum with them. I mean, I guess I wouldn’t have been able to suck a ridiculous bruise to the surface of my face with one of the knock-offs, but I probably wouldn’t have been able to suck the itch juice out of my skin, either. I’d much rather have a bruise than a bite. Anyway, this thing is awesome, just don’t use it on your face…or do. I would100% do it again.

Love this product. Mosquitos absolutely love me and as long as I use this soon after I get a bite, I’m good to go. Little to no itching after a few minutes and generally heal faster. The trick is definitely using it quick. Luckily it’s small and I can keep one in my bag at all times.

Loved this it is probably one of the best things I have ever bought. As an eat as much as you want buffet for insects I frequently have to visit drs/ hospital with a bite but not this year! Everyone on the campsite will be buying one of these as it got handed around and everyone was amazed how good it is. Only slight downside is it turned one of my bites on my foot into a blood blister but Tbf that hurt far less than the bite.
