theory11 Monarch Playing Cards

Very sturdy, elegant cards with fine graphic design. A joy to look at, shuffle, and flip through whatever your game is.

I have been a long time fan of Bicycle playing cards yet theory 11 is giving them a run for their money. The art, feel and durability of every theory 11 card pack I've gotten is fantastic. the card variety is top notch, with size, color accuracy and value for money, you really can't go wrong with any of the theory 11 card packs. That being said. Monarchs are the best of the best.

The art and embossing are excellent.

Great for cardistry, and okay for magic tricks. I know some people buy these for card games, but I'm not really sure why. At $10 a pop, these are pretty expensive to let your buddies paw them and spill beer over (which is why I buy Kems or other plastic cards for gaming). Theory 11 makes designs good cards. The Monarchs are made by USPCC, but under Q1 standards. Just FYI, Q1 doesn't mean they're using some special process, it means they have highest level of quality control technicians during the productions process, so these cards are as flawless as USPCC can make. The cards are very slippery, which makes them great for speads and fans, but a little bit touchy for packet control. Definitely manageable though. The tuck case is gorgeous and feels great. The card faces are all standard except for the Ace of Spades and the matching Jokers, which are custom. These nice thing about this is that while the cards look classier than a deck of Bikes, they don't look like a trick deck. I think the best compliment you make about a set of cards is that they show and handle well. Monarchs deliver in spades on both counts.

Love the feel and the quality but for the money there are better options (Bee is my favorite).

I just love these cards. They are classic and these are great quality cards. Blue is my absolute favorite but really like Purple as well. The price is high for a desk of cards but I just keep coming back to these cards as I like them so much.

I'd never have thought that there could be such a difference in the quality of an item as simple as a playing card. This proves to me that a little research and paying that little bit extra is so worth it. These cards handle so well and feel like silk in your hands. Watching them glide so fluidly across the table when dealing them is mesmerizing.
