An Aspirin a Day: The Wonder Drug That Could Save YOUR Life

I bought this book after a consultant suggested that I should take "half" an aspirin a day. At my appointment I questioned my consultant on the side effects from taking aspirin (my mother had taken aspirin on medical advice for about 18 months before finding that it caused her to suffer from internal bleeding).I was advised that the benefits for me would far outweigh any possible side effects.I searched the main site for "Aspirin" (looking to possibly purchase the tablets online) and found this book.It explains in detail research on the many benefits from aspirin and the results of medical trials.This book is a must for those (like me) who wish to make an informed decision on whether to start taking aspirin as a preventative medication. It has given me the facts I needed to decide for myself if aspirin is right for me.The explanations in the book are very clear detailing how organs in the body work and how problems can occur (eg different types of heart attack) and how aspirin can be used both in prevention and treatment.I have given this book 4 stars as there is more informatoon than I personally need and some readers may find this book a little daunting although it is very clear in its explanations etc. I am very glad I purchased this book and YES I will be taking aspirin as a preventive medication.

Very interesting read. Have been taking low dose aspirin for 15 years after hearing a recommendation from the then chief medical officer. None of the side effects experienced. Thus far have managed to avoid the dreaded family history of heart disease

Plenty of good information in the book. Have been taking aspirin for a long time. No problems personally. I always take it with a milky breakfast. Everyone needs to read the information and assess their own medical circumstances. Always there is a risk, whatever you take.

Great read, really interesting and knowledgeable. Off to the shops to restock some aspirin for the cupboards and medical box at home.
