Based on true background information about a number of drownings found near places where there are smiley faces. This story centers on Jake (Ronen Rubinstein) who is stalked during the entire film. He is off his meds and has issues, so I didn't mind it when PLOT SPOILER they finally get him into the white van we have been seeing the entire film.Jake is boring and so is the film.Guide: F-word. sex. partial nudity.

It was a decent film with decent acting. I personally love Crispin Glover and had no idea he was in the film til it showed credits! I think they did a phenomenal job on his makeup and he had a very strong supportive lead. All in all, watch the film to get your own opinion, but know it is by far not a great movie.

This is a depressing, plotless mess of a movie. Nothing about the cult or its beliefs is explained. Who is Galiel? Cult members leave evidence at his house, CCTV evidence at the gas station, a murdered clerk, but the movie ends with his friends giving interviews blaming Jake. The killers are sloppy, leaving evidence, harassing anonymous texts, etc for each victim. We’re supposed to believe that LE & the college community had no warnings out there already? The viewer is subjected to meaningless, excruciatingly boring conversations between Jake & his friends for two-thirds of the movie. The disgusting, graphic killing of the goat & dog in the beginning have no link to the plot. We learn nothing about the cult. Even when Jake asks why him, all he gets in response is “Because you are Galiel”. The viewer isn’t given any insight about what that means.At one point with Jake actively fighting back in the van, one cult member says to the other that he shouldn’t have selected Jake because he is too big and strong. Flash forward to the end of the movie where the white van is at yet another college campus. There you see the next victim, a White male who is taller and more muscular than Jake looking at his phone and then all around, lol.
