Having gone through several chew necklaces for our son with autism and an oral fixation we finally gave these a try. At first glance they seem easily destructible; thin plastic line that can be bitten right through. While our son has been able to break many of these they have lasted several months now compared to the one or two days that EVERY OTHER SINGLE NECKLACE DESIGNED FOR CHEWING that we've bought.These necklaces work together as a bunch or can work as a single necklace when a lower profile is needed (don't always need our kid walking around like Mr T). The coil design allows the necklaces to stick together so when inevitably he bites through one the others are intertwined with it and the broken one is not lost. Additionally the coil design means that each necklace is 5x as long as it appears meaning there is no choking hazard and no need for a clasp (a clasp that would just be chewed on and broken anyways with other necklaces). And again the coil design comes in handy when you tie together the broken ends to get more life out of each necklace.We highly recommend this to any parent with a child that has oral fixation and needs to chew something constantly.

These are awesome! They are much more durable than the photo shows. I got these for my son who has autism, severe ADHD, anxiety, and oral sensory fixation. He was constantly chewing on and ruining his shirts. Now he can chew on these and save his clothes from being stretched out. These help him stay focused and grounded. Highly recommend! I love the idea of these necklaces but there are a couple of quirks that prevent my boy from using them. I think it would depend on the kid whether these work or not. Here are my pros and cons:Pros:-they are well-made and super stretchy so they can be used as a necklace or doubled/tripled to be a bracelet so they are truly one size fits all. This is nice because I can wear one on my wrist to have available if he needs it and forgot or refuses (I'll explain in cons) to wear them.-They are also nice as a kind of fidget to pull and play with.-They are brightly colored which my boy loves-They are comforting, safe and enjoyable to chew- you get quite a few in a package so they can use a color for their mood or all for the rainbow effect.Cons-they are quite long, and because of the stretchiness I suppose they twirl up on themself (see picture) which gets to my boy. This sensory aspect makes them unbearable as a necklace unless he is in the action of chewing on them (and honestly annoys me too). This knocks down 2 stars for me because he won't wear them even though he enjoys chewing on them. This would definitely depend on each child.-They are so stretchy they can snap back like a rubberband if pulled too hard.

I thought these were a little thicker. My son chewed right threw it the first few hours. It stretched out within the first few hours as well. Highly disappointed with this product. I wouldn't even consider it if your looking for a product for chewing. This is more of a thin necklace you'd find in a party bag.

Very unsafe. The necklaces are extremely thin and break very easily. I bought for a serious chewer, and I would never give them these necklaces. I broke one just by pulling snuggly on it, so I can only imagine how easily they'd break for the intended individual. To top it all off, the seller would not accept any returns for these under any circumstances. Had to contact Amazon for help. Unbelievable.

My son is differently a bitter with his anxiety these necklaces didn’t last 10 minutes with him. They broke instantly I’ll have to go with something thicker. He just chewed up the whole necklace in his mouth, until I just took away the rest so he wouldn’t choke on them. I usually give good reviews it’s just this one I can’t.

These were so promising given the reviews that they lasted longer than a New York minute but alas the first one lasted perhaps two hours before being chewed through and stretched beyond use.And then next one - chewed through in an hour or two. We took to tying them back together but between being stretched beyond recognition and being covered in knots we had to stop using them.But they were worth a try. They would probably work for a kid who isn't quite as energetic of a chewer as mine apparently is.

These are not very good at all... They are very long for a child to start and then as they chew and wear it stretches way out... It also then curled up in to a little ball... will not be buying again.
