Yes, I consider this a deep dish pie pan.

I need a “deep pie dish”- is this a standard pie plate or deeper?

It's deeper. I got it because when I made quiche with a regular pie plate, the eggs spilled over. This pie plate works perfectly.

Is the red pie dish a "true red" or more of a "rust" or "burgundy" red color? Some of the pics look like a rust red.

Mine is more of a candy apple red color.
