Great Book!
Excellent book!!!

It is presenting a functional point of view about openings.
First step is to memorize the opening’s sequence of moves. This book shows you a view behind the scene: why is this sequence and not another leaving room for ones own creativity.

Images lack algebraic signs
The text of this book uses algebraic notation, but the board images do not include them. This is a small issue for those who know the chess board well, but it is a deal breaker for me. I cannot comment on the value of the instruction, since I quickly gave up on this book.

A good book.
I am in the midst of playing through this book now. I have browsed ahead and it appears the last part is going to be as good as the first part. This book is probably for a high class c and above. It's subjects include matters of development and so forth but is at a level above the basics. Its a book well worth the effort to read. The binding is good and does not come apart with use. I am glad I purchased it.

Rating of Book Quality
3/3 stars for the material given by the author and 0/2 stars for book printingThe games are well chosen and succinctly annotated. Whether the reader can improve his chess or not is a moot point. How many chess players complete a book before buying another one anyway? However, I will be careful when buying books because for the money dished out (almost 2000 bucks) the print quality is barely readable, giving the overall impression of money unwisely invested.
