Great kayak! Had lots of fun with it last ...
Great kayak! Had lots of fun with it last year. Can take the wear and tear of being picked up one handed and thrown in the back of a truck after a day of getting thru fallen trees in the river, being dragged over the rocks in 1 inch deep water, tipped over when the paddler tries to stand up and fish (a bad idea in case you're wondering) and generally put thru the wringer. I will advise resealing the wall that goes between the seating compartment and the back dry hatch should you do to it what I do. It still stays afloat after being flipped but the back section will take on water if you've beaten it up a bit. The shared wall mind you, the top hatch still works great and doesn't leak.

I'd look at a less expensive option.
Nice stable kayak. My only complaint is that the plastic is not that tough. I thought by buying an Old Town, I would get a better quality product. The smallest rock will leave a fairly deep gouge in the plastic. If I had it to do over, I'd spend half as much and get a cheaper one since the quality just doesn't seem to justify the price on this one.

It has nice features for fishing
This Kayak tracks fairly well for a 10'6" kayak. It has nice features for fishing. The bungees near the back rod holders allow you to put the bungee over the reel and actually hold the rod in place so that you don't knock them out of the holder to the bottom of the lake when you are paddling. The storage are is nice but a little difficult to reach behind and open once on the water. Anchor and anchor system is nice. There are bungees on the front as well. If you add a rope through the bungee clips you can tie the anchor off anywhere so that you actually stay in the direction you want to point when wind is blowing. The Kayak comes with no instruction on how to use the or install the front rod holder and paddle holder. If you look on line at the accessories you can figure it out. This Kayak has a smaller opening than the Vapor. It is also more narrow and more pointed. This allows it to track better, but it is more Tippy. The vapor gives you the cross between a sit on top with the large opening and is not as tippy. I have used both. I bought this for more general usage than just fishing, but primarily for fishing. It does everything that I wanted. In terms of price and features this was the best Kayak that I could find by any vendor. Does seem to be a little heavier on one side and don't expect the coloring to be perfect. In some areas the color appears to be blotchy like the coloring was missed. It is just the way it is and does have the base coloring for "Camo".

Quality and Value
Had it out on the water within a couple of hours of receiving it. It is quite maneuverable. I put in at a local marina where a creek dumps in to the Tennessee River. I paddled around in the creek a bit and then headed out into the river, which has a fairly decent current, and was able to go upstream with no problem. I spent about 2 hours sitting in the kayak and remained very comfortable. The features of this kayak are great and I would highly recommend. My buddies had 12 footers of different brands and I was able to track right along with them. It's Old Town after all. Great brand and great kayak!

Excellent fisherman companion
Doesn't seem to have excellent tracking due to it's short length. All in all it's a great kayak.
