Great book, although old
Gordon Childe was a great paleontologist and anthropologist. This is one of his many extraordinary books. I liked it so much when I read it for the first time years ago, when I was a student, that I decided to buy it to read it again and keep it. Although there are other more up-to-date books in this field, I highly recommend it to those interested in these fields.

Drawn from the archaeological record
Excellent analysis of formative Eurasian cultural history, from the period of lithic and neolithic societies up to the demise of the Roman empire. Wonderfully insightful, as one should expect from Childe, even 70 years later.

I asked for the version which includes Ä new Forward by Graham Clark and an edition not earlier than 1967. You sent me a copy of the 1941 version, without the afore mentioned Forward. the 1941 version has been revised several times over the years and therefore is quite a primitive versioncompared to of the f1967 edition,
