Does this TDS compensate for differences in temperature like the HM Digital TDS-4?

Yes if it was a real HM TDS meter but it is not.  It's a knock off.  Go to manufacturer's webpage and find a dealer in your area and order it there if you want a real meter.  
I spoke to the manufacturer HM DIGITAL today and they said the photo of this product is an original, but the product they ship is NOT.  The original real HM Digital TDS-3 have a printed instruction in black letters on the back of the meter that says "CALIBRATION" and has a screw to calibrate.  The knock-off simply has a hole and no printed words about calibration on it.  The original also has 5 bumps on each edge of the meter like the photo, but the one this seller ships does not.  Lastly, the real HM TDS-3 will display "HM" on the screen when you turn it on and then will display 00, but when you first turn it on will display HM.

Does this teat for lead , mercury, cadmium and other metals? If so, does it tell you concentrations?

No, it does not test for any specific dissolved solid. It tells you the purity of the water only. In other words, how close is the water sample is to distilled water.

The one I bought seems to work however it has no way to adjust it there is a hole in the back but no screw is it a imposter?
