Works great around my fences
The unit starts easily and is relatively quiet. I like that you can start it and let it run without the cutting part engaged. The string is pretty easy to change once you get used to how to do it.

It was one of my best investments
When I was searching the web for this trimmer I found this on Amazon. The price and stats were good but I didn't know the brand. After read the reviews I decided to take a chance and order .Glad I did this machine is Phenomenal!Took it out of the box ,it was easy to assemble took less than 5 minutes. Fill with fuel and it cranked on the first pull and has cranked on first pull everytime since. Cuts thought tall weeds like butter..GREAT BUY!!GREAT BUY!!

Effective but looks used
So we have lots of tall grass, cheat grass, weeds etc, along fence lines mainly on 36 acres. I purchased and when opened box it looked like it had been returned. However I set it up, added oil, gas and it started first pull. Note, there us no primer button so you just give it a good pull. It mowed down the grass pretty well but you do have to keep the head raised a bit when using otherwise grass will get tangled. It us quite light so easy to use on slopes. It went 4 a couple of hours before string broke. String was very easy to replace. Overall a great unit and the right tool to clear fencelines on our rugged property. Negative was the unit received did not appear new.

Powers through tough brush
Living on 4 acres with more than a hundred mature trees, especially evergreens with low branches, this machine gets under the branches and cuts through tough brush like the annoying poke weed shown here. Came ready to go, just tighten the handle and attach the throw guard, add the fuel and oil separately and go. No choke, no bubble to prime it, one pull and it started. Not self propelled but not needed, big wheels roll readily. Cleans up easily, best to detach the pan plate to remove the rolled up grass and stems that may accumulate after you are done. I bought roll of a wire core square edged trimmer line, better than the stock that came with the machine for heavy duty cutting. Should have gotten this years ago!. Note: best on ground that is not sharply sloped, with no wheels on front, have to tilt front up gradient slightly so you don’t dig, not a major problem though.

Sometimes "convenience" is just bad design
I bought this a year ago and used it 3 or 4 times. It worked ok, to the point that I would have given it 3 stars. The wire spindle underneath does not have enough protection so this still wraps up tall grass and binds it up after anything but the smallest of cuts. If you baby it... it'll work - but if you've got taller grass don't waste your time on this thing. But that was last year. Now typically with small engine devices (mowers, weed eaters, etc) you can turn off the fuel valve the last time you run it and then let it run until it is dry - then you can store it for the winter and it will start up fine the next year as soon as you open that fuel valve again (even if it needs a little coaxing it is better than the carb being sealed shut by bad gas). But do to the "convenient" design of not needing to use a choke or have a fuel valve - that means that this thing simply won't start. Yay, fun. After trying to take it apart to clear out the carburetor ... it is just assembled in such a way that it will take a full on disassembly and hours of work. And I know that's what the problem is because if I get a little carb cleaner into the air intake under the filter it will run for as long as I supply it with carb cleaner... ugh. Long story short, this is a bad design and it will run for a single season. Winterizing it will be an absolute pain every single year and it is just not worth the time for the fact that it can't even really handle much in the way of tall grass.

takes down weeds in a slow easy walk for us over 65
I have a few acers in the county use around trees, flower beds, corners of the fence line and my grape vines mostly anywhere I can save my back so don't have to walk like an old person. what I did in 3-4 hours is done in 1 or 2 and I can stand up straight some of you know what I'm saying. Thank you earthquake!

It’s a beast!
This machine is a game changer. I got it with the no-prime Briggs & Stratton, and it started fresh on the second pull, and first pull every time after. It DOES require a bit of set-up: you’ll want to dial in the belt tensioner (it’s not set from the factory, at least mine wasn’t) and adjust the height of the string head (it came at full height). It’s surprisingly quiet, easily took out fresh blackberry vines (dead dry ones not so much). Definitely recommend.

great at what it is designed for
This seems to be a very well built unit. I like the clutch function so that the engine keeps running and cutter head stops when bail is released. I previously owned a Swisser so compared to it this machine is a dream to operate. I don't like the string that came with unit. It doesn't last very long.
