Mattel Classic Electronic Football Handheld

Love it, add to my collection. Reminds me when I was a kid in the 70s.

Beware 3rd party seller. No reply after 3 days. I had to call Amazon customer support to return for refund. Package was sealed. Comes with 2004 batteries installed that had busted open inside and ruined the game. One star because the seller is way overpriced and no reply after 3days. I ended up buying a working one from EBay for less than half the price.

I grew up playing this game, and now it lives on! Exactly like the 1970's original, only slightly better. The original version used a 9V battery which could tear away from the connector. This one uses AAA batteries. Game on!

It is nice as I expected. it was a gift and they liked it very much. I would recommend this seller.

Using fresh batteries, illumination of LEDs still very dim and button very loose!!!

My husband and I were in possession of this game years ago. The game was lost due to storm flooding at our home. We downloaded the App for this game to my electronic device, it was not the same. I had to have the original game again. Glad we purchased, having fun again with this game.

Mattel has taken me back to my childhood. I remember playing this game when I was 10 (I'm 35 right now). My friend owned the game, and everytime I'd visit, I'd ask to play the game or borrow it and take it home to play. As the title of my review states, "Don't buy this game for your child." Reason is simple. They won't appreciate the simplicity of the game. Children today expect alot for a game. With GameBoy Advance and your various X-Boxes, PlayStations, GameCubes...etc...etc. Electronic Football couldn't even complete. The game is more geared for the 30+ year old boys in your life that wax for the simple days of their childhood. The controls are pretty much how I remember it for the exception of the game selector switch. I distinctly remember the switch being metal, instead of the black plastic switch Mattel has replaced it with. Mattel also replaced the power source of the game with AAA batteries instead of a 9-volt battery of yesteryear. I'm not sure if Mattel had struck a deal with battery manufactuers, since AAA don't have half the life expectancy as a more durable 9-volt battery. I've been able to play off and on for 3 weeks with the Football game before I noticed performance degregation with the game. So, if you want to take your love one back to the days of his/her childhood, by all means, spend a few bucks on this great trip down memory lane.

To be 36 years old, this looks great. It came quicker than I expected and works brand new! My husband was very excited to recieve this as a Christmas gift. It's the same one he had when he was a kid.
