2x4basics Hopkins, Picnic Table Kit, Sand (Frames Only), 2x4

I was a little skeptical of how this would turn out and the ease of putting it together. My husband and I are pleasantly surprised! We made ours 6' and had Home Depot cut all the boards to length since we don't have a saw. If you are going to paint/stain, definitely do it BEORE putting together. After painting, I think it took us all of 30 minutes to get both benches and the table together. The instructions on the box took a little reverse engineering (which sized screws are for what??) but overall my husband called it "Arkansas proof," meaning any dummy could do it. :) Instead of measuring 1/4" between boards, we just lined up the end ones and eyeballed the spacing of the rest, making sure the screw holes matched up. This method worked out just fine. We also went ahead and put 3 support 2x4s on the underneath of each bench. They really do need it to distribute weight and keep the boards all pretty and flat. For the table, the supports wouldn't be so much for weight as to keep the boards flat and from twisting. At 6ft, the set is easy to maneuver around the deck as it isn't too heavy. The plastic feet make it easy to slide around as well. It is very handy that the benches are separate. You could very easily add two shorter benches to either side of the table to seat more people. The benches are nice and wide to fit a variety of cheeks and the height is perfect. Overall, we are very impressed! We've have had ours put together less than 2 days and I've recommended it to a bunch if people already. I suspect at our next BBQ, everyone will agree and love this set! I wouldn't hesitate to get any 2x4Basics product.

Cotizaba mesas para la terraza y eran de precios bastante elevados. Con estas bases pude montar una mesa y dos bancas de 1.80cm de largo gastando menos de 1/4 parte del precio comercial. Obviamente hize el trabajo de comprar la madera, cortar y barnizar pero fue sumamente facil y economico.

Easy to install. Robertson screws would be nicer than Philips. Both the benches and table will eventually need angle braces to make it sturdier. But for now, it sits well, and is sturdy unless you are rocking from side to side. Even after adding the cost of the 2x4s this is still half as expensive as a kit from any hardware store.

Great product but had to do some serious chiselling to get the cross pieces to fit. Instructions made out they just slotted in
