Price aside, the only reason why it's 4 instead of 5 is that maybe mine was a defect. the nut comes loose after a while. If it comes off down the drain, I'll be back to update.

I bought this with the stainless OEM funnel based on a recommendation in the reviews. Glad I did. I checked the BUNN brewers as my local coffee shops which ALL use the stainless steel funnel. Every single one of them had this funnel kit. The funnel kit slows down the drip so that the water has a chance to swim around in the coffee grounds absorbing the coffee and flavour. I guess you could do without it, but you may have to use more coffee grounds in order to get the same taste.

I liked that if you happen to buy some of the "good stuff" to just treat yourself or use everyday, this little unit will slow the flow. That allows all the flavor and oils in the coffee to manifest and you can rejoice in the fact that you paid the extra for a commercial home coffee maker and are getting exactly what you paid for- the BEST. Great product, however, over priced; but I couldn't find it anywhere else.
