This microphone isolation shield is an essential bit of kit if you are doing some home recording and are taking it a little bit more seriously.It has 5 panels, with 4 that are adjustable to surround the mic a little more.The frame is made of metal and foam, feels very sturdy and has plenty of attachments to connect to a mic stand.I have noticed a definite improvement in sound quality when using this, with less interference from outside noises and a smoother sound overall.This is an inexpensive and effective addition to a home studio set-up and it has good sound results for minimal cost or space.

If you really want the best vocal recording and you already have a decent microphone, this is the next best thing. Traditionally, vocalists record in an anechoic chamber (an-echoic meaning "non-reflective, non-echoing, echo-free") This is a room designed to completely absorb reflections of either sound or electromagnetic waves. Often a small booth as part of a recording studio.This isolation stand is a really good alternative to this kind of professional setup that's impractical for the average user. The idea is that the microphone is placed inside the walled curvature of the sound-absorbing panels and provides a good 'second best' that's small compact, convenient and effective.The panel is a fold away, fold out plastic frame shaped foam panels on the inside to catch the sound and prevent any escape into the room. This is what stops the echo and bounce backs that cause the poor sound quality. When you speak into the microphone, surrounded by the fold out frame, you only record your voice, pure and uncoloured by room or furnishing reflections.The quality of the recording still depends on the weakest link in your system, so if you have a poor quality mic. or recording device, the sound will only be as good as those limitations.In use, the isolation shield works well, of course, loud noises in the room can penetrate, so you still need to provide a quiet environment. The shield will however absorb some external noises, so there is some bonus here. The use of a pop filter helps a lot as part of the overall improvement. I used it desk mounted for speech recording and also on a stand and both recordings were totally neutral without any sound colouration.As a general low cost, easily stored, popup booth, this is a great device. If you are serious about getting the best sound, and your other equipment is up to scratch, you should invest in this microphone shield and hear the benefits it provides. Recommended.

I’ve given this 3 stars and not 5 as I am completely puzzled what bits I need to attach the Blue Yeti mic. I’ve ordered what was suggested yet they dare not correct.Why are these not included? Why is the product link to these not added in the product description description?When I get to use it properly I’ll update this review.

Would not recommend this product. I bought it, thinking I could attach it to a sideways mic stand and failing that use it as a desk sound, not great for either! It wouldn't attach and the thing is way to small to be of use for an NT1-A mic! But hey, it looks good sitting there and won't do it any harm and I left it past the return date so what else am I going to do with it! New to all this audiobook recording business but you still want to look good ha

Plutôt stable sur son trepied, surtout si on place le micro sur un bras en haut. Le pop-filtre n'est pas de super qualité, je préfère utiliser un autre modele.

Arrivato nei tempi indicati imballato perfettamente.E' composto da 5 pannelli misure circa H 25cm - L 14cm, già assemblati.In verità, pensavo fosse più grande, per questo ho dato 4 stelle.Per il resto, funziona perfettamente per l'uso per cui è stato progettato.Nella foto la soluzione che ho adottato per comporre il set e alzare lo scudo, così da adattarsi al microfono che arriva dall'alto.durante la registrazione ho spostato il microfono indietro posizionandolo "all'interno dello scudo"

Wer zuhause kleine Tonaufnahmen machen möchte, für den Reicht dieser Schallschutz absolut aus. Man muss sich halt ein bischen mit der ausrichtung spielen, je ach dem welches resulatat man bevorzugt.
