Q: Will this work with a 4-pin RJ9 plug?

The ClearSounds WIL95 Portable Telephone Amplifier is designed to be installed as a home or business-corded telephone accessory with the dial pad on the base. (WIL95 is not to be installed in the handset; it isn't intended for cordless). You plugged this device into the telephone's RJ9 handset jack and with the telephone’s coiled handset cord plugged into it, Plus, the WIL95 is powered by an AC adapter (included) which makes it ideal for digital phones that constantly draw power from accessories attached to them. Q: Does this work on cordless landlines?

The ClearSounds WIL95 is designed for use as an attachment to a corded telephone where the handset is attached to the telephone base with a coiled handset cord. It is not compatible for use with a cordless handset telephone.

Q: How is this attached to the phone?

ClearSounds WIL95 is to be placed in between your telephone base and handset. Simply unplug the handset cord from your phone base and insert that cord into the "HANDSET" jack of WIL95. Then plug one side of the included phone cord into your phone base and the other end to WIL95's "BASE" jack. Adjust the Compatibility Switch located at the back. The "4" setting provides compatibility for most telephones. You can attach the AC Power Adapter after setting up the Compatibility Switch.

Q: Can the ClearSounds wil95 be used with a headset?

I don't see how, since it simply amplifies the signal that travels from phone base to the usual hand-held ear-set. If your headset *replaces* the hand-held set, and uses the same type of plug to plug into the phone base, then that might work.
