Great activity for young and old
My husband has Lewy body Dementia. And he was an electronic technician. I bought this for him for Christmas and he LOVES it. He enjoys making it play music, light up and send the fan spinning. He is not able to look at the picture and put it together by himself, but he enjoys playing with it with me and I love the quality time. They did replace an item with a different one, and we do seem to have some trouble getting that to work as the original was intended, but we love experimenting and making it work. It's a great size and an awesome value for the money. Especially with us using it for his brain and fine motor skills. Having him move to help push the pieces on is great. There were no missing parts and everything moves well on the board.

Great Resource
Why did you pick this product vs others?:A good companion to 'Snap 2 It' the game, which I actually bought first. Like that, this is a fun, hands on and easy way for a child to learn about mechanical engineering. A good stepping stone to learning more STEM stuff. My daughter is 7, and if I do with her, she can figure it out. If your child is 8 or higher, should be easy to pick up on. However, you'll probably have to help explaining some terminology in the book. It's very technical, so you may have to give a simpler explanation at times, esp for beginners.

Great learning toy
Absolutely love this! It's so great to teach kids about how things work. The fan speed spins safely so I'm not worried about his safety. It's the perfect size. We got this for my 5 year old even though it says 8+ and he does need help with some instructions because he can't read but most of it he can do on his own. The quality is great. There were no missing parts. It's a great value for the money as it was so much more expensive elsewhere.

STEM Fun
This was a gift for a child. My kids have used these products in the past, and they are unbelievably fun! They are well-made and worth every penny. They are a great way for kids to learn STEM! The colors are bright, and the product is durable. I would buy again.

My boys love this
Our boys loved it. Movement was great and they loved the quality and how easy it was for them to put together. Durability was ok the speed of the fan was great. Value versus money it was worth it.

Really neat product, really bad packaging
Bought this (very far in advance) for my daughter for Christmas, as I was looking for something similar to the Radio Shack 200:1 type kits I had as a child. Unfortunately, those don't exist anymore - but this is pretty close. The instructions could use some work, as they do not really describe what the components are doing and it feels more like teaching them to build Legos rather than read or understand electronic components and circuit diagrams, but I can understand how it might be the best option given the limitations of pieces being used. The old Radio Shack units had springs and everything was wired together with (sometimes hundreds!) of little jumper wires. Granted, I suppose not much is really wired that way anymore, and perhaps this more "circuit board style" is more appropriate for today's kids (and adults!). Either way, she has really enjoyed playing with it and learning about dc current flow, how reversing polarity on the motor causes it to spin in different directions, and troubleshooting her circuit lead to an understanding of how diodes are only one way. It's achieving it's goal, and for that, it's great. What's not so great, however, is the packaging. It's two cardboard and plastic molded trays, and just a slip cover. It's very difficult to store, since anything other than sitting flat on a shelf will cause the slip cover to come off, the trays to fall, and pieces to go everywhere! It really needs a traditional, closing box. Will have to try to find something that is more appropriate to hold the pieces, which is unfortunate.

Really cool tech, engineering, electronics kit for kids/teens
This is an amazing product. Super fun. The parts have lasted. They work well. The kids love it. Very educational. Keeps the kids engaged and learning. They enjoy learning with this product. There are several options for things that can be built and experiments that can be done. I recommend this for any tech loving kid or even teen. Engineering. Electronics. They'll love this!

Good quality
My grandson is enjoying this gift. He has an interest in all things mechanical and electrical, and completed some projects on the first day.Well built and packaged.
