So I've been looking at this thing in my "saved items" for months and gave it a shot. I've been using the "5 for a dollar" carpenter style ones (you know the ones) for decades and they're fine. This arrived and it felt a little clumsy at first, I wasn't too sure of the sheath/holder, etc. I've used it for a few jobs now and I'm kinda diggin it. Even unsharpened it leaves a better line than the construction pencils do (unless it's the first mark after a fresh sharpen), the lead feels waxy and durable and I haven't snapped a tip yet. If you need a very fine line for some detail work (trim/cabinetry) the sharpener in the tip of the sheath gets you a very fine point very quickly. The pencil itself doesn't fight you along the edge of a square, doesn't get hung up in irregularities in the timber (orange-store 2x6's etc) and it comes with a bunch of extra lead. In all, I'm slightly impressed and I'm glad I dropped the coin.
