First product came so damaged... (they need to ship this in a better way) It was a big hassle to get it boxed up again, and sent back, but we got another one from the seller. The Fedex guy also lost the package on the way back... I think most of the low star ratings are because these things come damaged so often.Anyway, this is a great little shelf, and can be turned on its side, or stood upright. It measures a hair over 13" in the cubes, and we found fabric cubes which fit them without any gaps on the side, making it look nice and seamless (Alexi Ricci tan 11hx13wx13d). Don't know what else to say about it! If you are worried about how they will look, they are pretty true to color from the picture here.Assembly is easy, IF you don't get a damaged product. Our first one had a bunch of anchor points pushed into the cheap melamine side, which made it impossible to put together. Before you take everything out of the package, I would examine the big, broad pieces, as we had problems with those, and they are easily damaged in shipping.All in all, they are very nice looking, functional, and sturdy once put together. We keep a 100 lb TV on ours, and can sit on the ends without even making it creak.

I would like to start my review by pointing out that this is put it together your self, laminate pressed board furniture. It is what it is. I would not dance on it or toss it around the room. I bought this for my daughters room. It was actually larger than I had hoped and we have yet to fill it up- plenty of storage space here! The color is a nice neutral gray. We had no assembly issues and it went together rather quickly. We did chip a corner of the laminate on one piece when we dropped during assembly (totally our fault.) I would recommend putting it on a soft surface to assemble. It is pretty sturdy- sturdy enough that I feel comfortable leaving it in a child's room. That is saying a lot because kids do crazy things! I was able to find the storage bins at a local store that also sells BH&G products. This could also be useful as t.v. console due to the dimensions.

Update: Manufacturer shipped missing shelves completely free of charge. I finally was able to assemble the unit and it turned out perfectly. So grateful everything worked out. 5 stars.Original review:So I ordered this 2 months ago, but for a number of reasons just got around to assembling the unit...well, attempting to anyway.Anywho, it looks like instead of the 2 middle shelves (C1), I received 2 unlabeled pieces of thin cut particle board with no pre-drilled holes, so I can't complete the assembly. The boards appear to be made from the same material pegboards are made from, or from something very similar. I contacted the seller today and hopefully they'll send the missing parts without hassle. Will update once I get a response.At any rate, the parts I did receive seem well made and the finish goes perfectly with my decor. My mother has 4 of these same units in white, and they're quite sturdy so I'm certain once I receive the missing shelves I'll be happy with the end result. Fingers crossed all goes well.

It is attractive but a bit frustrating to put together and definitely not super sturdy. Did not feel good about sitting it up vertically so we are using it horizontally. It is sturdy enough for our purposes but I'm not sure that I would put anything super heavy on it. Good value for the money but if you want something great quality look elsewhere, for sure haha. I enjoy it though. It looks nice and does well for what I need it for. Versatile aside from needing to not put a ton of weight on it, I feel. All in all, I would probably not order again because I would choose to invest more money for something of higher quality... But if you're working with a budget it is not bad for the price.

I purchased this 8 cube product and needed it to be on it's side to put my living room TV on. I also purchased 5 faux leather boxes/bins at a local store (in the clearance isle) to put in 5 of the 8 openings. It holds paperwork, that I don't want out in the open. Also DVD's and some CD's. The other 3 openings have pictures/nicknacks, and the like. It's a nice solid piece and goes perfectly with my decor.When I received it, the deliveryman put it just inside my door, because it was quite heavy. I opened the box, and proceeded to pull out all the pieces putting them in order. Took me about 2 hours to put together. Struggled a bit, so I stepped away, and re-grouped. Came back and finished the project. I've had many compliments on the unit and I'm very glad I bought it. It's not only functional, it is also attractive.

Mine came in good condition. As far as I could see it was not supposed to have back boards so I wasnt dissapointed not to have any as others noted. I'm a small 30 year old woman with average building skills and generally clever and was able to put this together by myself in 40 minutes. It helps to use a wall to help with support if you are doing this alone. Honestly I think this would have been frustrating with a second person but that's just me. I ended up ordering the 4 cube organizer as well since I loved this so much! Paired it with 13x13 canvas drawers and it looks beautiful! Cant wait for the smaller unit to arrive and tie my room together ♡

Goes together easily enough but a second set of hands doesn't hurt. Seems pretty sturdy I wouldn't jump on it or flex it much. Mine is on its side and I have confidence that I could lean on it all day without issue. Visually it is very attractive but I can see the sides getting scratched easily if you were to slide it around but that's no big deal I've just decided that one side is always going to be the bottom.
