If you can't wear the watch on your wrist for any reason, then this works well as an armband type strap for the Apple Watch. I use it for gym workouts where gloves are required and hence can't wear a typical watch band, so I wear it a little higher up the forearm. It reads movement and heart rate all the same. No problem with it at all. It comes with an elastic type band that is comfortable and secure.
