Excellent...but with one tweak!
I live in a rural area, and I can hear a fox make his rounds almost every night. Since I installed these lights in May 2022, I can tell from the direction of his yelps that he stays far enough away from the coop at our barn, so I think these lights are a good safety solution. Here's my tweak:(Sorry if I'm repeating someone else's idea; I’ve not read the other comments.)- Find a cheap/scrap piece of firring strip or a yardstick. Even a scrap 2x4 is useful, though it's overkill. A large L-shaped metal shelf bracket would work, too.- Drill a small hole into the one end of the wood strip. A bracket would already have a hole.- Thread some fishing line* into the hole of the wood strip (or into the hole of the shelf bracket). Knot it well. Then tie one LED light to the loose end of the line. Knot it well.- Screw or nail the firring strip contraption to the coop (barn, etc) high enough so that the light is free to dangle.* The length of the fishing line is determined by the animal I wish to deter (in my case, a fox) and so the light will dangle about 1 foot off the ground.I'm thinking: to the fox the light at that height looks like the eyes of another predator staring back at him, and having it dangle allows the light to move in any amount of breeze, mimicking a live animal. Not sure if my hypothesis about the line’s length is of value, but I’m going with it.I installed 2 of these 4 lights in this manner…each at opposite corners of the coop/barn. So far, I've had NO loss of our dozen chickens nor any evidence of digging under the fencing, so I believe this is working well.Obviously, I can't know for sure if the predator perceives the LED light's eyes as a live threat, but it’s a cheap adjustment and worth a try.Note: I do have the coop as sensibly-secured as possible, so I am already doing what’s needed to protect my birds. Twice I've forgotten to close the coop door when I finished my nightly barn chores, and the birds were safe the next morning. Also, the solar parts are holding up well, it’s been a year and I’ve yet to replace the batteries, and the plastic housing is not deteriorating in the elements.

Incredibly Effective
I am writing this review almost 3 years after purchase. The lights still function properly and actually work to keep predators away. I got these to help protect my chicken coop that backs up to open space in a suburban Colorado neighborhood. We have a camera on the coop and in all that time I have only seen 1 fox and 1 raccoon. The neighbors 4 houses up repeatedly see bears, coyotes, and mountain lions. The only difference I can see is that we have these amazing lights. I was skeptical at first, but thought them to be a low risk option. I would definitely buy again!

Doesn't work!
It's coyote central out back and I was really hoping these would help - even a little. They absolutely DO NOT WORK. I had a coyote lift his leg on one (on our security camera.) We have a whole pack of 6 coyotes, they walk right up to them, not scared at all. Save your money.

works keeping neighbor cats off my pation furniture. and as bonus blink like a security night cam
These cat solar repellent blink very well and get charged even if it gets the sun only half day. they have been keeping neighbor cats away at nights. I was getting stray or neighborhood cats in my patio and some were marking my furniture and leaving it stinking. I also have cats so I did not want anything that would bother my own cats ears so I got these lights instead of sonar ones. I put two of these lights hanging from my chairs facing the entrance of my patio so the wind will move them a little. I guess they are working because I have not smelled cat marking on my furniture for a couple of weeks. however, one of my own kitties is very active and moves away only if the light is really close to it. But for strays cats that come only once in a while seems to be working well. I can sit on my patio chairs again. win win for me.

I wish everything worked this well.
A year ago our neighborhood had trouble with very aggressive raccoons that were killing chickens and cats. I worried about my little 7-pound dog. He is partially disabled and is not able to stand well. I had previously installed spike strips along the top of the fence, but both squirrels and raccoons just danced along the top of them as before. Then I got four of these Magic Cat flashing red lights and placed them opposite entry points to the back yard. Super easy to install, and solar recharging keeps them going strong all night. Total success! I have not seen a raccoon in 49 weeks. My worry meter has dropped significantly. I just wish Magic Cat made a device equally as effective at stopping unwanted phone calls.

Worthless
They do not work, they are supposed to scare of Vermont cats and dogs, i bought to keep the cats away and stop them from marking my property, all the do is attract them. To many nights I see them snuggled up by them.Get motion sensor lights, that did the trick, sneaky night dwelling cats don't like to be spotted in light

Works great
We had a family of raccoons visiting our yard every night all summer. Once we put these in the yard, no more raccoons!

Did not work for raccoons, just makes mood lighting
Not effective for raccoons. We positioned 3 around our Koi pond, now the raccoons have nice red flashing LEDs to create a nice mood to hunt Koi by.
