We’ve got one on the back of the house overlooking the garden, and another on the garage covering the drive. The lights are really bright, the motion detection is spot on, and the app makes it easy to set up and use. These are the wired-in versions, so I had an electrician friend fit them. From what I saw, the wiring looked a bit fiddly, so if you’re not confident with electrics I’d suggest going for the battery or solar versions instead. Once installed, they’ve been flawless — never gone down once, no issues with power, and they don’t draw much at all spurred off a garage socket. The camera quality is fantastic, the live view works brilliantly, and the microphone is surprisingly good. Ours picks up perfectly at the garage door and even down to where the postman drops parcels. Handy for telling the odd cat to clear off too. They also look smart and feel premium. Even little touches like the orange screwdriver that comes in the box are great — I use it all the time. We bought ours on sale, which made them even better value, but honestly they’re worth full price. For security, peace of mind, and ease of use, these are a must. Five stars, highly recommend

Great camera/lights. I have bought 2 of these now. Links to my other ring devices and stored on the ring cloud via a subscription. I only required the lights for the garden for the 2nd device but with the discounts it made sense to a get another camera version. Easy to fit if you already have outside lights so the wiring is in place other wise you may need an electrician to sort that bit. The first one had an issue after 12 months where the lights never completely turned off . Contacted Amazon and they had a replacement sent in a few days

I have to admit, I am a fan of Ring products and have them fully protecting not my own house but my parents as well. this was purchased to replace another floodlight at the side of my house but with the added advantage of a camera system as well. As always, ring products are superbly packaged and the vast majority of the packaging can be recycled. They come with fittings and also some tools to help you install. Already having a power supply to the side of the property, the installation was fairly easy for an unskilled electrician such as myself, however would always recommend that where you are unsure of, or just do not like dealing with electricity, to have someone competent to install this for you. Set up is a case of scanning the QR code that comes with the product and following the steps in the app. Fairly straightforwards and had me up an running in the space of a few minutes. The firmware will then update which takes another wee while and you really have to be close to the light with your phone to ensure that it does update. once you have it set up the way you want it (including the nice touch of the overhead satellite boundary view) it does what every other ring product I have - that is, works. The motion detection is responsive (although some of the AI features are still clearly learning - my cat is clearly not a racoon in my yard). Colour night vision is excellent and the field of view is superb. Even at night the picture quality is really good. Downside, well there has to be one for a 4 star review- wifi connectivity! I don't live in a huge house, however, the wifi signal struggles to reach it. Luckily I already had the updated chime with its own Wifi network which has helped. This camera also seems to utilise the 2.4ghz and 5 ghz bands unlike its predecessor. All in all a very good product, however the AI features (after the 30 day free trial) are, in my humble opinion, way overpriced from the standard cost. I will enjoy the occasions racoon being in Scotland for another two weeks and then will not continue with the enhanced package. Its just not worth the extra money for the features.
