Q: Can i install this in an external thunderbolt 3 pci-e enclosure and access the installed nvme ssds from macos? what's the max bitrate/throughput?

This card has no integrated circuit or interface that might impact of factor in any compatibility issues. Is just a copper trace that bypass the SSDs to another connector type.

Q: can i add a heatsick with it?

Yes you can, we recommend our own TP02-M2 heatsink to use with ECM22.

Q: How can i disable the LEDs?

You cannot disable the LEDs for ECM22. If you must have an adapter that does not include LEDs, then please consider getting ECM20 instead: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01798WOJ0

Q: Will this adapter connect to a samsung ssd 860 evo 1tb 2.5 inch sata iii internal ssd drive? will i need a special cable?

No, this adapter is designed to fit "M.2" SSDs. For 2.5 inch SSDs such as your Samsung 860 Evo 1TB 2.5 inch SATA III, you can use our EXB02 adapter card instead, no special cables needed, just regular desktop PC's SATA cables: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KYWX4WZ
