An excellent resource - whether you’re new to Scrum or looking to become a pro
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. What an excellent introduction to the Scrum world.I’ve often seen the words “Scrum” and “Sprint” thrown about in development and project management circles - yet without much understanding behind what they are actually supposed to mean. However, this book describes the various definitions well, and the way the author breaks down each role, event, and process into bite size pieces - along with useful and relatable examples throughout - the entire system is clearly illustrated. One of the main reasons I love this book is that it doesn’t assume any deep prior knowledge. Ideas are introduced gently and logically, and the questions at the end of each chapter are useful to ensure things are understood correctly. As a leader in a tech company, I am always looking for ways that will enable teams to effectively and efficiently develop new software features. As a company, we already pride ourselves on being “agile”, but I know that by applying the techniques described in this book we can add extra structure and responsibility to our development process whilst also maintaining the agility and adaptiveness that Scrum advocates for.Although I am not currently looking to become a Professional Scrum Master myself, having an understanding of the concepts, process, and team dynamics is invaluable in applying effective people and project management. The author does a great job in conveying the positivity in the ideas behind Scrum, and I think the Professional Scrum Master Guide is a must-read for everyone in product-focused organisations - from developers through to product owners and senior leadership.

This Book was Essential in Passing the PSM-I
On my first attempt at attaining the PSM-I certification, I failed, after reading the Scrum Guide and the "Definitive Guide to PSM-I". I found the questions asked in the exam did not correspond, in enough instances, to the SCRUM guide. However, the material in "The Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) Guide: Successfully practice Scrum with real-world projects and achieve your PSM I certification with confidence", covered scenarios that were posited in the PSM-I certification test. I think, if you want to pass the PSM-I, as I have, read the SCRUM guide, but supplement it with this book!
